♡⁀➷˚✧𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭; all that came to him was the awe of such a sight. He thinks to himself, what BEAUTIFUL EYES. Perhaps it was how greatly he favoured hues of blue——————how in the instance they gazed upon one another, despite not knowing anything of the other. The way they lingered without words to say, Naoto takes it upon himself to break the silence wedged between——————blurting the first thing that came past his mind’s filter.

❝ You have such deep eyes. ❞ He wonders what could partake in another’s life to make the lenses of perspective in their world so potent ?

               hows the family  -     she laughs.   such a lighthearted,  casual question he asks,   as if he had not left a void in the lives of all the isaksen in the years of his absence.   there was no need to delve into uncomfortable topics if he wasn’t ready,    sachiko concluded.    she had felt grateful,  in fact,   that they had easily slipped back into their age old dynamic without a hitch   -   why rock the boat so soon?    there would be time for that.   wouldn’t there?

            “   they’re well,  ”      leaning against her palm she cannot seem to stop herself from studying every inch of him,   eyes scanning from his fluffy hear to the tips of his neat shoes.        admiring the subtle changes,   adoring what had stayed the same.       “  lets see…    mamma   &   pappa had another kid…     ame is applying for university now,   can you believe it?  ”     a wistful sigh parts her lips,    where does the time go ?      “ everyone misses you, of course,  but that’s to be expected,  right?  ”   a chime of laughter soon replaces the sigh,   brightening her expression as she leans back comfortably. 

             “   and you?  still doing music?   ”      she knew better than to ask after his family so early into the conversation  ;  allow them to get settled,  more comfortable,  gauge his mood.  then,  maybe,  the topic would be broached.

                 CAREFULLY HE FOCUSES ON HER FACE .  /   searching  ,   timidly  ,  for something there  --  though he doesn’t know what he’s looking for yet .   there is little that has changed here   ;    she was the same warm  ,   caring  ,   goofy woman she’s always been  ;   one that he knows would open her arms  &  welcome him back whenever the time came for it.  she’s gotten older ,  gotten more mature .   that means he’s changed too  (    he hopes    )  .  

“  you gotta get up out the chair  —  so that i can make new material.  get possessed by the holy spirit or something  … a miracle,  innit  ?  ”  banter was nostalgic,  filling him with a mix of warm and sadness.  once belonging to a unit,  but now he wondered if that was simply meant nothing because now they felt like strangers.  “  oh,  i work maccies now.  yeah gave up the music ‘ting now i just flip burgers.  my true calling.  ”  being honest didn’t come easy right now  &  he wanted to continue to joke around.  “  been thinkin’ ‘bout a nose job, y’know?  ”  his hand rose so index finger could poke at his beak.

                        AN EYEBROW ARCHES .   /    fingers drum gently over his armrest.  ‘  now you think i’d let just about  anyone  have some of  this  , sir  ?    ’   if any of them were honest men here  ,   they’d say old habits die hard  --  these types of conversations included .  it was hard to look vincent in the eye  &  pretend he didn’t want to just skip the basics  &  think nothing has changed  (    i learned guitar  ,  by the way ,  all on my own  -   )    ‘   please tell me you’re joking.  you traded your artistic ability for a grill ?   damn ,  couldn’t be me.  ’   he frowns , though ,  &  looks as if he wanted to press.  he doesn’t.  

pale oceanic hues fixed on the latter —  devoid of any form of emotion in his gaze.  “  hey,  maxie.  ”  he returned pleasantries lowly;  wondering in the back of his mind how many ghosts he would come back to  (  haunt  )  surprise him.  “  still crippled,  huh  ?  ”  there was a special place in hell for him,  but at least the raven still brought it out of him.

          “    ahhh my plan is foiled !!   i absolutely am trying to kill you.   how did you know ?  ”   with one final squeeze she takes a step back   &   releases maxie from her embrace.  her eyes scanning across him to fully take him in    -   her smile brightening as it sinks in completely :    maxie is really here,   really in front of her,   she really just hugged him again after all this time !

         “   missed you,   maximoo.  ”     leaning back across she gives a quick peck to his cheek,  hovering over his face before …    one …    two …   three seconds pass    &   she  -      BLOWS A GIANT RASPBERRY ON HIS FACE.    the more things change,  the more they stay the same.

                   ‘   OH PLEASE , YOU DON’T HAVE THE GUTS  !  ’   /   but as soon as he says it  ,  a part of him thinks otherwise  (   a mad sachi is a scary one actually  )  his eyes following her as she moves  ,   with a hand batting   (       half heartedly      )   at her face once the tender kiss is placed .   ‘   i’m your  favorite  ,  you know. you can’t find it in your heart to deny me anyth--   ’
