I like finding out what people my age and older had as their first cell phone. Anybody younger and their answer is a generic Android or iPhone. Phones from the 2000s were some wacky device like the sidekick or samsung x83 or lg env2

I was thinking precisely of this scene from Wizards that made me laugh and think deeply at the same time.

For context: my Cintiq 22HD was failing, as the screen was malfunctioning for some time, making it very difficult to draw -keep in mind I used it practically everyday for 8 hours of work between comic and assets, and yet it lasted 7 full years. This Cintiq 22HD was special, because it was a gift from my husband after I gave birth. I knew I would have to change it sometime, but yet saddened me a little bit. I worked with this Cintiq to the very end. Sometimes it worked properly for some hours, but I knew I couldn't subordinate my work routine to the mood of a machine. I work in a very disciplined routine.

My husband has surprised me today with this Cintiq 24 :') refurbished but looking new. He said is for our anniversary this time, so I can consider it special too. 16 years together, 8 of them married! He always has full supported my career as artist and professional comic artist, and has taken care of this career knowing it is a struggling one. I can never be more grateful of how lucky I am of having him in my life.

I promise I will do whatever is needed to be deserving of this!!!

Finished writing part 1 of the script for my graphic novel! Yay! Part 1 establishes setting, main themes, Junar's family, upbringing, and Jaya's struggles to fit in. All leading up to Junar's climatic decision to begin his journey with his sister, Jaya.

I'm excited to start writing the Jinn arc 😈 It's been fun diving into family dynamics in the first part. The story progressed slowly but it was necessary to bring Junar to his 'boiling point' after bearing the situation he was in for so long. But the action starts now! The 'new world' phase begins~
