Majority of my knowledge of Star Fox comes from the Super Smash Bros (since Brawl), but even then I still barely know about it. Saw the Star Fox direct come about, but didn’t bother to watch it until a month after it came out. Seeing how it’s an old franchise and has a new(?) take on how it’s adapted style-wise, I was curious — and honestly, I think it looks really cool! I normally am more bias for more cartoon-like styles, and plus the nostalgia factor, I get why many veteran fans are mad / dislike the redesigns, altho it makes me happy that some are growing to like them more :>

It… was when I saw this shot of Falco ^ … that got me OTL …… fuck ……… and to see glimpses of his personality throughout this direct (and getting to know it more via his wiki page and TV tropes page)… cocky & arrogant? Fuck he’s my type… HIS VOICE TOO 😳??? Fuck he’s got me by the balls OTL

This rant being prolonged (even tho it’s not like anyone knew) — I’ve been liking several Falco posts on here and kinda scavenging for more stuff of him online in the last week (IT’S ONLY BEEN A WEEK) — I’m embarrassed to say that it’s only when I see him as a fkin realistic bird that I now feel attraction for him… istg it’s the human-like behaviour/traits that I’m attracted to (plus the attitude & voice ofc). Really, it’s the potential fact that I may be a furry… not to diss furries in general but you can understand how it feels embarrassing… right……? It feels worse to admit that than to admit that you’re a weeb… I’ve been a weeb for 15+ years, and I’m still embarrassed to say so most of the time…

Altho I can be real with this — I’ve been part of the sonic fandom for almost 20 years now, and Sonic was my first fictional crush ever, and in recent years I’ve grown to like Shadow more… I also got into Beastars when the anime came out, and the scene that got me curious was the first sexual encounter between Legoshi and Haru…… wolves in cartoon/ish media have always been cool to me (altho I’ve never particularly been hyperfixated on that); I do like Legoshi’s character in general, but you know who I actually find attractive? Yafha. I know he’s a little controversial, but… look at him 😳……

Anyway back to Star Fox — I did try the demo, and altho I like intense gameplay, my stick aim fkin sucks; I had to replay the boss battle 2-3 times cuz I was so bad at dodging and aiming for the weak spots OTL … I’m way too used to the motion controls of Splatoon. Maybe I can push thru and improve if I give in to getting the full game, but as of now, I’m really content on just waiting / watching the cutscenes when they come out. Now there’s that problem… waiting for the game to come out… at least it’s less than two weeks away now. Good thing I watched the direct much later, or else I would’ve had to wait in suffering for longer lol. I was able to wait a year then 2.5 months for Tomodachi Life, I can wait ~2 weeks. But even then… I’ve seen that the original (and remakes) are generally short in terms of story, so now I’m worried there won’t be many cutscenes. Altho tbh, whenever I’m hyperfixated on something, ofc I want to see more and more of it, but alas, there’s only so much you can consume 😔

I’ve… been rewatching the same bunch of Falco / Star Fox videos over and over again, and looking back at the same Falco posts over and over again… It was also a pleasant surprise to see the animated specials (created by Orange, the animators of Beastars) — it seems like that’s the most animated we’ve seen of the gang (other than Fox in the Super Mario Galaxy movie I guess; haven’t seen it), so yea I enjoy watching Falco moments in that :> (Slippy’s voice in both ENG & JP are so cute!!). It’s also where I can get the best view of his arrogant attitude ahehe, and his bickering with Slippy is funny too (altho him insulting the latter in the running scene was a lil uncalled for :( , but Slippy was still cute 🥺)

Last night, I saw a really cute fanart of team Star Fox on reddit, and that’s when I thought “omg they’re actually so cute I think I love this series” — like a team of a charismatic fox leader, cocky bird ace, cheerful frog technician, and father-like veteran bunny — also saw another fanart (which I’ll probably reblog soon) of them as chibi / more accurately sized, and I’m like FUCK they’re so cute!! Animal characters taking on human roles have always been fun :3

I… need to see… more Falco content… his previous iteractions are a lil goofy-looking for my taste (at least his looks before Brawl, altho I can still appreciate them). I’ve grown to really like birds in recent years (mainly cuz of my long-time love for wings, but there was one art project I did a few years ago where I made a comic about a Peacock and a Crane, so my appreciation for them grew from there), but Falco… he’s a different story… I’m not a bird fucker I swear…… I really wanna know who his new voice actor is… that one scene where he talks about General Pepper’s “dirty laundry” — he sounds a lot like Dirk from Date Everything (heh), thus me thinks he could be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch.
