We know that the keys can alter appearances (like when Violet changed Buddy's hair color to white) so, what if Rose is changing way more that just his outfits?

I wanted to scream in frustration when the narratonin sapping confession was ripped right from his lips. But I can accept it. It was something he was guilty of, it can be thought of as the narration's punishment to him.

But Buddy should not be punished in the confession of his reality. No, no, no, it can't be a forced unmasking, or an accident, or rushed due to circumstances, or anyone figuring it out, and absolutely not anyone else saying it out loud.

The narration has had it's harshness on the subject through the way Buddy sees himself, through the way he believes he deserved what he got, through the way he is neither human nor key, despite being both. The next part has to be gentle on him.

I hope he gets to say it in a calm environment, when he is ready enough to be coherent, while the light is gentle on his features, while Chase's fingers are soft within his grasp.

I may be a *little* late to this trend, but at least I finished it 🩷

i theorized a bit earlier that wave plays dumb - or clueless in front of the gang, and that in reality; he’s more cunning, secretive, and smarter than we expect and how he presents to be.

and that smirk confirms it and says his true intentions stronger than any worded explanation from him could ever do.

an additional take; wave knows how to take down somebody. in fact, he’s done it on his first appearance. every characters’ first appearances mean something and attribute to their character, personality, where they’re positioned in the plot, and it’ll show us what to expect from them. and wave’s first impression was taking down somebody.

another scene when wave took down somebody was season 2 episode 41; he put that guy in the broom closet - with little to no restraint, or effort by the looks of it. i first brushed it off as comedic, and quick. but i now realize he did that a little too easy. a little too fast. a little too casual.

so, i’d be cautious if…i don’t know; the old man’s teaching wave some moves.

or, what if wave already knew those moves, and that’s secretly one of the reasons why the old man’s hired or took liking to him.
