Welcome to Rooted by Nature, a legacy challenge centered around exploration, self-discovery, and the connection between people and the worlds around them.

General Rules

• Follow the story and goals of each generation as closely as possible.

• Lifespan and aging settings are completely up to you.

• Mods, custom content, and gameplay tweaks are allowed unless they directly bypass generation goals.

• You may use cheats for building and decorating, but avoid using cheats to complete goals, skills, relationships, careers, or aspirations.

• If a generation requires a specific world, move your heir there when they become a Young Adult unless stated otherwise.

World Requirements 🌍

Some generations take place in destination or hidden worlds that are not normally residential.

For the best experience, you may need mods that allow Sims to live in vacation worlds or custom worlds.

Recommended examples include:

* Granite Falls (Generation One)

* Selvadorada (Generation Six)

* Any custom fairy-related world used for Generation Seven

If you do not use these mods, feel free to adapt the challenge and visit these worlds regularly instead.

Story First:

This challenge is designed around storytelling rather than strict difficulty.

If a goal becomes impossible due to pack limitations, bugs, or mods, use your best judgment and choose an alternative that fits the generation’s theme.

For ten generations, the crown passes from ruler to ruler—each heir carrying the weight of those who came before them. Some become legends. Some become monsters. Some spend their entire lives trying to escape the throne itself.

From a street thief who pulled the legendary SimCalibur from the stone… to manipulative royals, hidden heirs, forbidden romances, exiled monarchs, ghost-haunted rulers, tyrants, spellcasters, and wandering nomads— this is not a story about perfect rulers.

The Way of Life Legacy Challenge is designed around the 16 Lifestyles that came with The Sims 4 Snowy Escape. It has 16 generations, each utilizing a handful of other packs and features. A loose storyline ties each generation to the next, giving you direction while still being open enough for your creativity and play-style to shine.

I finally created a legacy of my own that consist of 5 Generations with a 5th Gen that offers to different Scenarios (A & B). I have a really difficult time dedicating myself to a 10 gen legacy and so I decided to create one of my own.

After weeks of working on this project, I’m finally so excited to officially share my very own Sims 4 legacy challenge ❤️

✧ Fragments of Us ✧ is a 5-generation legacy challenge where each heir has their own personality, goals, aesthetic, and gameplay style while exploring different packs and ways to play The Sims 4 ✨

I created custom generation cards along with a full document including all the rules, traits, aspirations, careers, goals, suggested packs, and everything you need to play the challenge

Hi everyone! I’m Mojom and I’m really excited to share with you my take on the lepacy challenge for the Sims 4!

The idea for this lepacy is to experience and re-explore the game by playing with every pack one by one and see everything they really have to offer.

Each generation focuses on either an expansion or a game pack (I also included stuff packs when I thought it could work well with the generation - or that stuff pack came out around the same time). You can add the kits and the free holiday stuff whenever you want though!

I also thought of different ways to play this challenge:

You disable everything but the base game (as well as the kits and the free holiday stuff if you want) and you add the packs as the generations come - you can use James Turner’s disable packs code for that,

You keep everything in the game, but just disable the gameplay aspects that can be disabled (fame, eco footprint, snow…) - that’s the way I decided to play because I’m lazy and I couldn’t wait for Seasons, and also I get to see some cross-pack gameplay that I didn’t know existed!

You can also pick (randomly or not) which generation to play with!

When the next generation is born, that’s when the next pack can be either enabled or that’s when you can start to add some items from that “new” pack to start exploring the “new” gameplay.

The typical rules of the legacy challenge apply: play on normal lifespan, no money cheats…

Of course, feel free to play however you want! And if there is a pack you do not own, feel free to skip either the generation or the goals that you won’t be playing with! The most important thing is for you to have fun playing the game!

Gen 1: Base Game

Back in Sunset Valley, everyone told you it was impossible to make it as a comedian there. So you decided to leave for Willow Creek, where you heard your chances were much greater. Now here you are, ready to be the funniest Sim in town!

aspiration: joke star traits: goofball, hot-headed, outgoing career: entertainer (comedian)

master the comedian and charisma skills

reach the top of the entertainer career (comedian branch)

Gen 2: Outdoor Retreat

Nature is your calling: you want to learn about its mysteries and secrets, and spend as much time outdoors as you can. The more you learn, the more you want to share that knowledge with the world, for everyone to know how amazing nature is! You also heard stories about a hermit living in Granite Falls, but these are just stories, right?

Any of these testimonials sound like you? They sound like me too! The Sims 4 has been out for over 10 years and at the time of writing has over 70 DLC packs with 17 expansions and 12 game packs (may the concept rest in peace) and I have spent far too long forgetting some of my favorite features. SO I have decided to write a Lepacy Challenge based on each of the Expansion and Game packs! (Except Batuu obviously)

Currently, I have written up to Life and Death (which is the most recent pack at the time of updating this) for a total of 29 generations! When new packs come out I will do my best to update quickly. I have outlined a basic story to connect the generations but obviously, you don’t have to follow it, do what's fun for you! For a slightly abridged legacy, you can play without the GP generations.

Yay! New additional generations to #ts4occultlegacychallenge by yours truly. I have enjoyed playtesting through the first 10 generations (can be found on my page) and decided it was time for some expanding on the challenge.
