When Kim Hilliard shows up at the clinic at the New Orleans University Medical Center, she’s not there simply for an eye exam. The human touches she gets along the way help her navigate her complicated medical conditions.

In addition to diabetes, the 56-year-old has high blood pressure. She has also had back surgery and has undergone bariatric surgery to help her control her weight.

Hilliard is also at risk of blindness, which can result from a condition called diabetic retinopathy. And on this day in February, her vision will be evaluated by a new practitioner: a piece of software.

Automation like this is starting to infiltrate medical care. Depending on how it’s deployed, it could help reduce medical errors and potentially reduce the cost of care.

It could also create a gulf between health caregivers and people of more modest means.

More than 80% of parents in the U.S. support the teaching of climate change. And that support crosses political divides, according to the results of an exclusive new NPR/Ipsos poll: Whether they have children or not, two-thirds of Republicans and 9 in 10 Democrats agree that the subject needs to be taught in school.

A separate poll of teachers found that they are even more supportive, in theory — 86% agree that climate change should be taught.

These polls are among the first to gauge public and teacher opinion on how climate change should be taught to the generation that in the coming years will face its intensifying consequences: children.

And yet, as millions of students around the globe participate in Earth Day events on Monday, our poll also found a disconnect. Although most states have classroom standards that at least mention human-caused climate change, most teachers aren’t actually talking about climate change in their classrooms. And fewer than half of parents have discussed the issue with their children.

I’m a female ENTP raised by a male ENTP who was raised by a female ENTP. My family appears to breed this type, it’s actually scary. 

But hm. that’s a good question. I don’t know if there’s any definite preference in any direction.

I definitely have more female friends because I’m less attracted to them and from puberty to mid 20s, I was as awkward as they come. Now I’m about half and half with both super close guy and girl friends.

I could see us stereotypically having a lot of guy friends. ENTP females are very charismatic, and I think a lot of the reason why I didn’t have too many guy friends in college was because I was worried about them getting the wrong idea, as engineering nerd guys do–maybe about 3 or 4 times I had a few guys who I considered friends thinking that we were more? And I was like no? I was just talking? I’ve also had this problem with a girl who I was talking to and then she was like maybe we’re falling in love!? and I was like oops my bad. 

So I’m going to border controversial here and tell you that ENTPs definitely always think before they talk. More specifically, we think of ‘stupid’ things to say, and say them anyway.

We are quick, we think quickly. We’re also clever so our quick thinking is often relevant to the situation or funny. But I assure you that if we come off as not thinking before we speak, it’s probably on purpose.
