Oltreé was sitting on my shelf for a bit and I finally got it out to play. It was a really easy teach and the game was quick. Relatively. I played the suggested scenario and chronicle which helped go through the motions. It was a lot of tests and a little bit of story sprinkled through the game. I started with a few buildings built so I think that made the game a bit easier which almost gave me too much free time near the end of the game. Despite the amount of components and the awesome quality it’s a rather simple game. The art is gorgeous and turns can go by quick. I used a card holder I bought on Amazon and it’s been super handy including here, where it held tokens instead of cards.Highly recommend for groups learning something a bit heavier than their average game without the difficulty and time sink usually required. Not sure I’ll keep this game but I’ll play it a few more times to see if it has staying power.
