this is so nice to hear, i appreciate u :) do u remember what the portrait looked like? im curious. unfortunately if i deleted it, it’s probably gone… i don’t usually have backups ughh😵‍💫

tbh it’s hard. i don’t think i have a handle on it yet. i already don’t draw / create for months at a time so it was an ok adjustment for me but a lot of times when i actually do want to make something, im never able to find the time for it. i find that im only ever able to work on something when im neglecting something else (work, sleep, weekends, etc.) … so im still learning too LOL

i’ve always been pretty firm on not wanting to mix art and work. it didn’t seem realistic for me, and i can easily see myself being burnt out given, again, i don’t create for months at a time. to me, art should be something fun. and i know trying to make a career out of it would strain my relationship with art so i actively chose against going to school for it.

i think i landed on a good medium. i went to school for marketing instead and got lucky enough to land a marketing position, where i’m still able to be creative. my interest in art gave me leverage and put me in a unique spot within the team, as a lot of skills i learned from my hobbies surprisingly came in handy at work
