We have now entered the (admittedly kind of long) era when the Fisher’s & co die. I feel so very, very old.

He loves the 1995 miniseries almost as much as the book (and frequently mix them up). He hates the 2005 movie, mostly because the actor they cast as Mister Darcy "had an ugly haircut" and "wasn't hot enough".

All the "main" Roy's (Logan, Connor, Kendall, Roman and Shiv, and for once also Ewan and Marianne) will loudly proclaim that Austen's book are silly romance novels for women, and since most women are frivoulous and silly, they all love Jane Austen. (Most of the Roys have never read anything by Austen themselves, though Kendall might have skimmed through something in college and Shiv is a secret Lady Susan fan/apologist.)

When they haven't anything worse to do, the Roy's use to gang up and relentlessly mock their various wifes and girlfriends for their presumed love of all things Austen. Both Rava and Willa went from liking Austen a normal amount to never wanting to read her again. It's a sign of how much Shiv actually loves Tom that she never told anyone that's he's a Janeite.

According to Caroline, Emma Woodhouse has never done anything wrong in her life ever. Also, Logan and his offspring are not serious people.

No one ever dares to mock Marcia. (Who thinks Austen is kind of overrated, but enjoys reading Persuasion sometimes.)

Kerry claims to hate Austen because she's not like the other girls, but the 2005 film is her secret comfort movie.

I don’t really want to dwell on it more, so here’s some silly post-show headcanons instead.

Poppy and Ian and Shannon and Storm end up as a polycule. Shannon does most of the actual raising of the baby, after the other three have done some creative and partly successful childproofing of her house. Also, Poppy, Storm and Brendan form a band. It’s bad but they have fun.

I can’t imagine what David will do. Possibly become an influencer or a monk or something.

Carol takes over David’s job, and becomes good at it.

Dana and Rachel marry and live happily ever after. Eventually they start their own company.

Brad stays at MQ forever, always finding new ways to generate revenue and being perfectly happy.

From October 2021 to April 2023, Mythic Quest was my Thing. And it was the funniest, smartest, sometimes-warm and sometimes-mean and sometimes pushing at it's own boundaries Thing imaginable. And when it stopped being my Thing it wasn't because it crashed and burned, we just drifted apart a little bit.

So I'm sad to see it go - especially since it really needed a fifth season, but I'm happy that it existed, and I'm very grateful to the writers and actors and directors and other people involved in it.

I like Poppy and Storm and want 349 fanfics about how they met. Will be sorry when they break up or otherwise go wrong, because there is no way they can just hang out and be randomly cute together all season.

As for the "Ian & Poppy love each other very much and express that love by making video games together but have no romatic and/or sexual intrerest in each other whatsoever"-thing, I have no idea what's going on. Like, giving Poppy a lover who is also her new creative partner and who is someone who is way, way better than Ian at giving her public recognition is a really smart move, but a lot of the writing feels kind of weird?

I'm really happy that they solved the "who works where for what company" with minimum fuss.

I do not care how stupid they make Rachel, I still love her. (And I loved her and Ian bonding over moon landing conspiracy videos.)

The short one The unseen canadians who called Kendall a "calamari cockring" in S1 do in fact own "Montreal" and are to Jaques and Jean-Luc what J&J are to David.

The slightly longer one Jo discovers that the guy who still sends long, very emotional messages to Brad's long-defunct prison blog* is in fact Tom Wambsgans, the former head of her favorite conservative network. She decides to play Cupid, and goes to New York to eliminate Tom's awful, liberal, coastal elite wife. However, whe she meet Shiv she realizes that she's just a sweet, lonely, backstabby woman who misses her evil dad. Jo and Shiv become besties and Shiv makes Jo start wearing tailored pants and Jo makes start wearing Shiv cute barrettes. And they make fun of people who eat brunch and take baby Bitey on fun outings where she gets to smash things. Happy end!
