Ana could still feel a light heat burning her cheeks when he spoke, telling her that he was okay, but she still felt terrible and embarrassed that it happened in the first place. “It’s nice to meet you,Troy.” She uttered before pausing, tilting her head with a raised brow. Heal fast? He didn’t look like any vampire she ever met so he had to have been a wolf. “Oh! Of course!” Dropping her hands, she clapped them in front of her with a large smile. “Baked goods is definitely something I can help with.” If there was one thing that she knew, it was the things that she baked. She took great pride in it. Turning to the side, she laughed softly and motioned with her head, “Shall we go see if I’ve got anything you’d like?”

“It’s nice to meet you too.” He said, eyes flicking down to her bare neck before back up to her eyes. Troy felt like he didn’t know too many free humans. It was a delicate thing but he was still glad for her (even if it could be better.) Nodding, the wolf let her lead the way to the bakery, somewhat wary of the fact that it was vampire owned. Hopefully he wouldn’t have to deal with any of them for too long. “Sure. Although I might get you help pick something for the family too. That’s the harder part.”

Ana’s hand immediately flew to her mouth at the man’s words. She wouldn’t be able to say sorry enough times, “I - are you alright?” She asked, taking a step towards him but pausing. “I’m okay, I was just thinking about far too many things at a time.” Scratching the back of her head in embarrassment, she glanced behind her in the direction of the shop before turning back to the person she had just ran into, “I work over there that the bakery,” she motioned behind her, “If you’d like to follow me, I can get you some ice for your foot? I’m so sorry about that, again.” Offering him a small smile before holding out her hand, “I’m Anastasia. I figured you should probably know the name of your assailant,” her words slipping from her lips almost playfully. Mostly for her sake because she could only imagine how much that could have hurt.

Troy laughed softly, “I’m okay. I promise.” He told her, straightening up but with a better grip on the toolbox this time. “I’m Troy,” He told her, a lopsided smile showing one dimple. “I heal pretty fast. Might not need the ice – but uh, maybe I’ll get some kind of baked treat. Can get some to take home.” They’d disappear in a flash, he knew but Troy did like to spoil his family. 

Anastasia had just finished making the special order deliveries that she had due for the day and was walking back to the bakery. However, the young woman was so lost in thought that she didn’t even notice that she clipped the arm of someone, continuing to walk until she heard them exclaim something. “Excuse me?” The words leaving her lips before she could stop them. Turning rapidly on her heel, a soft gasp leaving her as she looked over at them with wide eyes, “I’m so sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going.” She knew better than to get lost in her thoughts while walking. That was the easiest way for her to get herself into trouble. Trouble that she wasn’t entirely sure that she wanted.

“Son of motherf–” Troy’s words faltered when she turned around, stooping to pick up the toolbox that had just landed on his foot. His own fault for not having a good enough grip on it, and for being a space cadet when she’d run into him.

“No, no it’s okay. I wasn’t either. And if I’d been holding onto this thing better I wouldn’t have dropped it. It’s just heavier than it looks. You alright?”

Rosalia pursed her lips as she stared openly at the scarring, arms crossed over her chest. He seemed to be so confident despite the imperfection. For someone who obsessed over the way she looked, someone who had more vanity than empathy, she didn’t understand it. If she had a little more emotional maturity, she might’ve even admired it in a weird way. “Well the rest of your face isn’t all that bad I guess. Almost makes up for it,” she replied dryly, delivered in a tone where it wasn’t exactly clear if it was supposed to be a compliment or not. She wasn’t sure yet. 

“And you care, why?” she asked when he offered her a word of caution yet again, her eyes narrowed slightly. Ros knew she wasn’t a pleasant person, so when someone still treated her with kindness, she was very skeptical of them. Everything in her life was a transaction of some sort, after all. 

Ros rolled her eyes when he rattled off her order, a little huff on her lips. She didn’t like being proven wrong. “Have you ever tried it? Don’t knock it till you do, probably better than whatever shit you’re used to drinking,” she returned, falling silent for a moment as they walked. “If you went against the Queen and came out alive, guess that makes you a wolf, huh?” 

Troy barked out a laugh at the dry reply, amused by it regardless of whether or not it was supposed to be a compliment. “I care because it feels right. I care about humans. I care about what happens to all of you – so I care about what happens to you.” He didn’t like the way things were but there was little he could do to change that right now.

“Course I am, Mama has spent more time being my mom than my actual mom- something she tends to do with Ackermans” she shrugged lightly “Come on, Troy…” she teased, taking another sip of the huge beer before only then motioning for a refill. “Well, at least you’re not throwing me out immediately. Most of you tend to grab me by the scruff of the neck and yeet me out” she giggled “So, what brings you here thi evening, dude?” she wondered, tilting her head at the wolf.

Seren tilted her head at the wolf before her “You gonna try and throw me out of here?” she wondered, draining the huge tankard of beer and then setting down the glass. She always loved sneaking into the Underbank simply for the huge beers they served. Plus, she’d gotten to know enough of the wolves. “I know I’m not like meant to be here and all that, so I’d rather you be the one chucking me out- I might even go quietly” she waved off, giving a little hiccup.

The scent of vampire had sent him into overdrive – vampire in the Underbank – but then when he found her... Troy studied her as she spoke, listening to that little hiccup. For fuck’s sake. “You’re an Ackerman. Aren’t you?” He grit his teeth for a moment and took a deep breath – through his mouth this time. He didn’t like that she was here but for once he didn’t actually think she was a danger. 

Ambriella sighed contentedly with the touch of his lips to her head, appreciating the affection, considering she’d asked for something so personal. “I hope your heart doesn’t get wounded, holding on like that,” she said thoughtfully. She cleared her throat and looked up at him, “It means you’re my friend now and I’ll not take no for an answer.”

“Not usually, but I’m new in town so it better be safe than sorry.” she answered him, normally she knew who was trouble, and who was competition, but being new in town, she didn’t know those things yet, would her parents be a problem? Would they even care enough to try to see what she was up to when she wasn’t doing something for them? She doubted, but it was better to cover her tracks.

“Oh for sure, you seem confident enough anyway” Magnus chuckled. “Think that Sam would forgive me for it?” The man wondered with a chuckle as he took another swig of his beer “I promise to look after Az and the pup though, they give me a reason in this crappy world and for once I feel like things are going to be better in the future. I have the gym here in the Underbank, it’s small but functioning, I have my personal trainer job in the city and now a family. It’s not something I’m ever gonna throw away. “I love this place and I’m gonna stay here.”

“If you get that car up and running, I will buy you a beer in apology. How does that sound?” He wondered, the man happy to make a little wager even if it was probably possible that the car could be fixed- no matter how long it took the other.  “Well, I am gonna try and look out for ways to get her to like me more. I know how protective she is over pups and the fact I’m giving her another grandchild is something that I really need to step up with-” He listed, only then clearing his throat. It was easy to obsess over trying to please Mama and the rest of the Codona family. “I’m pretty sure I broke the bro ode by sleeping with my friends sister, with both you and Sam” He then laughed off. “You think? It’s really good to hear, thanks man”

“Sounds like you’ll owe me a beer sometime in the future.” Troy chuckled, accepting the wager. 

Troy licked his bottom lip, “Look you just keep lovin’ Az. Keep making her happy. It’ll work out. Mama can be scary but she’s got a lotta love to give too.” The bro code. It made him laugh again and shake his head, “Yeah well I’ll forgive that. You make her happy and you’re not a bad guy. Nothing to be mad about.”

“Hey, Mama likes to think she knows everything. But I know for a fact that she couldn’t put a car together if she needed to” The blonde chuckled. “Goddess I love that woman, but she is not the absolute word of wisdom in this life” She reassured “Just, uh….Don’t tell her that I said that. I don’t wanna die for it” she snickered. Effy gave a wrinkle of her nose at the fact that Troy began to get into it. “I mean, I’m sure that she feels the same way-…” She tried, really not one that did emotions and soft stuff well. “Skylar isn’t at all like me…She is of course headstrong though, but she’s far more in touch with her emotions than I ever will be. She’ll still be in love with you too” she sighed. “Talk to her, even if you can just be friends after it all….”

Troy laughed, “I’m not interested in being the messenger that gets shot either,” He told her, shaking his head a little. Of course, he tended to look toward Mama frequently but that was because he owed her everything. There wasn’t a thing she could ask of him that he wouldn’t do – or at least try to do. Still – when it came to cars, he recognised they weren’t her specialty.

“That’s what he said, but I don’t exactly trust him.” Pandora said, people that easily accepted money for their principals weren’t trust worth on her opinion, but even if he did talk it wouldn’t be a big deal, she could cover her tracks enough, and come up with a story to why she was there. Besides, there was only one person she was hiding this from, and she doubted that person cared enough to ask around about her.

“It was nice meeting you.” She said grabbing a paper and writing her number down. “Any trouble feel free to call.” Pandora said, again, she was pretty sure that no one would come asking for her, but if some vampires did, it could easily get ugly for the wolf.

The wolf curled up, yawning and holding her books to her chest and just resting. “He’ll be okay. I’m working on it.” The younger wolf hummed, “You’re warm, and I’m going to wind up falling asleep here.” She mumbled, “Do you want coffee or anything? We could go back to Mama’s, have you seen the twins yet?” 

Damon took a sip, looking the other over and moving away to grab another from the fridge. He’d have to pay Magnus back later or something. He settled down on the steps before patting the spot next to him, looking up. “In my experience I don’t know a whole lot, I’m always open to listen.”
