‘‘my plans for tomorrow?’‘ william took a drag of cigarette as he shifted his attention from the two asian girls talking by the fountain to ther person by his side. he was outside the main building at the science department, back pressed against the brick wall as he enjoyed his healthy dose of nicotine. ‘‘I’ll probably find myself a girl dressed as a sexy nurse to wash away my sins… typical wednesday night,’‘ he mused with a smirk. ‘’–what about yourself?’’

“sounds like a very enlightening night. let me know if she has a friend,” he replied with a small grin. jude was never one for smoking, but he didn’t exactly mind the smell. it was almost comforting. “as for my own plans, i’m letting the night take me where it may ── preferably down the same route as you, my friend.” 

“ okay, hypothetical question; if one was to spill paint on their carpet, how difficult do you think it would be to get it out ??” odette’s hands and shirt were covered in light blue paint. this was a pretty common thing for the girl, since she was fairly clumsy, things always slipped out of her hands and paint splatters ended up on the floor or her clothing. it was a pretty stark contrast to the gracefulness she showed when wearing a pair of pointe shoes. “ someone may have spilled acrylic paint on their brand new rug and they definitely need help getting it out. “ 

“i think it would be nearly impossible, but all the more reason to do it. that’s how you leave your legacy. you’ll forever be known as the girl who stained the carpet light blue. legendary, really,” jude mused with a devilish grin. “oh, this already happened? how important is the rug?” he replied with a laugh. 

“as you can see, i was definitely not expecting company,” alie stifled a grin, raising her eyebrows to direct even more attention to the eye masks she wore. she was rather grateful she was wearing them at this point because there was very little under her dressing gown protecting her modesty, her silk slip certainly wasn’t doing any favours. it might’ve been the only time in her life where she relished her beauty routine being interrupted. “is it urgent? i think i should put on some proper clothing.”

“look i just have to be here for an hour longer and i can be there, just…” kit sighed heavily, of course on the one night when he’d assumed he’d be safe to leave tilly at home with the carer everything seemed to be going downhill. it wasn’t his baby sister’s fault, she’d just wanted to speak to mum, but helena however, knew better than to cater to her whims, especially ones involving getting her hands on technology. the last time she got his phone she called theo, for heaven’s sake. “put her on will you?” he heard her excited squeak before she was on the line going a million miles a minute, “… talked to mummy, kitten! … mummy says you saw teddy! … i see teddy? … when will you come home? i want a bedtime story. you tuck me in too? …” his head spun and he tried his best to placate her before helena came back on the line. “put on beauty and the beast, give her a hot chocolate and tell her i’ll be home soon. we’ll be having a talk before you leave tonight helena.”

his head dropped to the table, and he briefly wondered if he looked as weary as he felt. sensing the presence to his left, kit took a deep inhale from the cigarette dangling between his fingers and placed his phone on the table and prayed it wouldn’t buzz again. “who knew how stressful it is when your aunt insists you open your home to your cousin, right?” he chuckled amicably, the lie rolling right off of his tongue despite how acrid it tasted. “i need a drink.”
