painting with my gouache paint that's drying out, oil pastels and paper
inspired by feelings of loss and the struggles of self image, as well as not knowing your place in society
i made these two pieces kinda at the same time, while having mixed feelings about some of the same things. i remember thinking about this song lyric by rina sawayama, where she sings "how do you hold a ghost?" or something similar, and from years ago that stuck with me. it came to my mind while i was starting these paintings, thus transforming into the anchor and title of one of the pieces

"star echoes" a experimental zine of a failed stamp
"star echoes. for (brazilian) zine club, "stamp" (theme), 2026"
"i tried to stamp stars in the sky"
"shining forms and blue shadows"
"i didn't really know how to explore this text and am still getting used to writing things not so directly. it was interesting to explore, maybe i'll make other stars too"
back cover
"this zine was made for clube de zines, april 2026, of biblioteca de zines" - Luana Góes
hi! it's been quite a bit since i shared any new work here. not because i'm not making it, but i've been working a lot and not so much time to spend here. i like sharing these on tumblr because i get to practice english and translating it, which is interesting in how people interact with. this was a zine made with pen, red paint, pastel pencil and also a failed attempt at making a homemade stamp, which i tried with "carving" a sponge and it did not work. but! the textures of the paint were cool, so i just folded the paper into a mini zine and tried different things for each spread.
with love,
luana

hand bound zine about feels of the context i live in
(or the amazon region of brazil)
"in this forgotten home, never mentioned or remembered"
"it comforts me:"
"the people"
"their memories"
"and their lived experiences"
and the fact that, despite everything, it's mine"
"the north* is my home"
*refers to the northen region of brazil, where the amazon region is located
front cover + first page "forgetting as a memory"
back cover + end ramblings
it says "this zine was made as an experiment for the zine club of november, with the theme home, by biblioteca de zines, a brazilian digital archive for independent zines."
it also says "the northen region of brazil, spefically my state of amapá, has always been my home and i'm grateful for it. the outside perspective that comes from other regions never sees us as protagonists or people beyond the steriotypes. taht's why, this exploration in zine form can also be titled "the forgetting as the memory", in relation to how we're viewed, or in fact not viewed at all, by people other than our own"
zine made with my own photography work, tape, pen and some acrylic paint. hand bound by me with simple thread and needle!
"i hope you remember to take your meds every day" "and that they don't have a lot of side effects"
"i really want therapy to help, and that you keep looking for support when you need it" "know i'll keep inviting you to things for as long as it takes. and i will understand if you are not able to make it"
"and yes, I always want to know how you're doing" "and that you receive gentleness, care and support"
i hope for good days (despite the bad days)
end
this is a zine close to my heart, I was hugely inspired by a zine by drawpoorly zine on instagram and reached out asking for permission to create something similar/inspired by it on my own context and in my language (brazilian portuguese)
at first it was directed at my friends. however, as someone who struggles with depression for years now and was stable, i ended up having a bad episode recently for the first time in a bit. so when i was making this zine, i could see myself also internalizing the messages to myself, which was quite comforting.

"ego death, hayley" a mixed media fanzine inspired by hayley williams
"Paramore was the first band I became a super fan of. Hayley is an insane vocalist and performer. When she started realeasing solo music, I was crazy. Petals for Armors, Flowers for Vases and now Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party showcase her writing a lot!!"
"Her solo work always get me because of the way Hayley writes about mental health. Writing a love song to her antidepressant is something I actually understand quite well."
"Her albuns always grow a lot for me. For example, I like all the songs now but only after revisiting it again after a bit of time. My favorite songs are True Believer, negative self talk and kill me"
"PEN moments by hayley williams"
the end!
this zine was made for the zinetober list shared by biblioteca de zines, october 2025, fanzine.
hayley williams we love you girl. everything will be okay

a mini zine about finding out i'm autistic as an adult woman
"The Blue Train, about a late autism diagnosis"
"i always felt a bit alien in the middle of other people."
"the social anxiety and being timid kept me from interacting and talking out loud sometimes. i didn't really know how. it didn't come naturally to me and, when i tried, it exhausted me quickly. "
"that slowly made me sick."
"I had a lot of anguish because of the limitations I felt. Often times I thought that I just wanted to be normal. Still during my teenage years, I received my first diagnosis: depression."
"I prefer to stay with headphones."
"I did a lot of therapies and my psychologist brought up a point. Depression is very common in autistic adult women, being the comorbidity that is more frequent in the spectrum. Women can have symptoms that mask autism. And I didn't know about any of that."
"Research about autism?" "Yes, Luana."
"I received my official autism diagnosis as an adult. During this process, I heard a lot of things from people and doctors that didn't take me seriously. Because women can "mask" their symptoms, because of the perception we are supposed to be "quieter" and because we often don't fit the stereotype of the spectrum."
"Stop limiting yourself..." "That's nothing"
"In reality, receiving my official diagnosis took a weight off my shoulders. I realized I just move in a different way and in a different speed than typical people. Autism is a spectrum that manifests like that: each person has their particularities. Pinks trains, yellow trains, blue trains. "
the end! lyrics from O Trem Azul (The Blue Train), a song that means a lot to me and inspired this zine.
I made this zine kinda quickly with colored pencils in a linen like textured paper. Sharing my experiences with mental health has been important to me to process some things. More than that, every time i share these i have valuable exchanges with people that can relate and feel the same. I'm not a great writer or speaker, but i still have things to say. And i'll continue to share my experiences and making art that feels vulnerable and close to my heart.
shoutout to all my autistic girls, we truly deal with a LOT from people and doctors even
