Rays of Gold is a for-charity unofficial Naruto zine featuring Minato Namikaze in an AU if he were still alive and got to raise his family.

This project centers around themes of fatherhood, family, and happy parent/child relationships.

Thank you to everyone who filled out the interest form! We got 15 responses in just three days. Here's a brief summary of what the community wants and where we're headed:

Theme

Most folks are enthusiastic about it being set in 1994 (or around then, at least). Some ideas include a compilation of Conan holding album covers over the years, and a "mixed physical media" concept (ex. newspaper, VHS, and DVD-style sections).

Contributions

Fanart was the most requested contribution type, followed by fake ads/TV bumpers and written pieces (interviews, essays, fic-adjacent work). If you're not sure what you want to make yet, that's completely fine. Several of you said the same.

Timeline

Most people felt confident finishing a piece in 3-4 weeks, so we're setting the submission deadline for Sunday, September 6. That gives everyone about three and a half weeks to create, and gives us time to put the zine together before release.

Release date

We're aiming to release the zine on September 13, since that's the date of the first episode of Conan.

The interest form is still open if you haven't filled it out yet! This post reflects responses as of today, August 10, so some details may shift.

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, over 30 artists from around the world have adapted the 2006 art house film ELECTROMA into graphic novel format!

Next year, the Scott zine will be returning for a second edition with old and new prompts! We will be accepting new applications with this as well!

Now, this announcement may seem early, but we wanted to give you plenty of time to suggest prompts for us to put in the zine! Either prompts in the original series, or new ones! You can comment under this post any prompts you may want to see! If you see a prompt you like, make sure to reply or give it a like so we know!
