People expect for their selfships to be loved and appreciated and then rarely return it when it gets attention.

You can reblog ask games and send in asks to the former person, but they never send any in back.

Wider known accounts get so much attention but the smaller accounts with a smaller following and activity gets little to none even with tags.

There's a community here, but it remains one sided.

If you have a fictional other who is widely popular, it'll get more attention then the fictional other who is more niche.

You could put very little work into a project and it'll get loads of attention, but once you actually put your heart and soul into a project it'll get zero attention.

If you selfship with a character who's considered extremely problematic and less popular, you'll be shunned. But if you selfship with a character who's extremely popular and still problematic, suddenly it's fine?

There needs to be some kind of balance in order for a community to be a community, but all I've been seeing is a constant back and forth and a constant push and pull.

Maybe I've been in the wrong parts of the community and maybe there's a side that isn't as bad as I've seen.
