An experimentation built with the interaction/tension between a raw, “direct” video material and a “ghost” video source which seems to crawl behind, between or beyond the overall image. 

The result takes form in a progressive alteration of the video space. Growing incrustations flow through objects, walls and through the scene itsef. The ensemble of these elements seem to lead the video to something “out of reality”. It is neither a totally artificial space nor a natural/normal one ; Hence the idea of a “Zone” , both attached and detached from its context.

Adaptation in a large wall-size scale of a low-resolution picture of “The raft of the Medusa” (Le Radeau de la Méduse) , painted in 1819-1819 by Théodore Géricault.

Sound is made from raw data directly imported from the two video sources.

I had some mechanical troubles with my new analog camera ; these two awfully blurry pics are one of the very few shots that remained .
