“Dude, who did this to you? Aren’t you cold?”

“I..actually, I don’t know who it was. It is a bit chilly, though, I must admit. You wouldn’t happen to casually just carry extra shirt around with ya, no?”

“Clean yourself up, kid. You look like a mess.”

“Little do you know, this bubblegum pink is making a revival.” Tristan smiled to the older boy, trying his best to hold it before a drip of the drink had found the corner of his eye. “Actually-- ouch! Okay, maybe you’re right.”

“Maybe next time you should try wording it better…?”

“All I said was, ‘You seem really knackered, would you like me to buy you another drink?’ and now I’m like this. I really can’t say I understand it.”

“Holy shite mate – what happened?” Harry quickly asked a waitress for a napkin or towel.

“I offered a worked up girl that had obviously had a long day a smoothie, and then I ended up wearing it.” Tristan gave a defeated shrug. “Is pink not my color? I feel like it’s really working for me.”

“You look like a cute kid, can’t really tell with all that gunk on your face. Some girls can really just be bitches. Unless of course you were being an ass, then you most definitely deserved that.”

“Well, I’d hope that I’m cute, but I can’t really tell you that,” Tristan said with an innocent grin, his expression falling at her asking if he’d been the reason behind the incident. “O-oh no! Never. I would never disrespect any woman like that. Or any man. Or anyone, no matter what they identify with,” he quickly added in before offering a shrug. “I don’t really know what I did. She was sitting there drinking, and she looked absolutely gutted so I walked over and I said I would buy the next one for her. Next thing I know, I’m covered in strawberry ooze.”

“Hmm…. I’m not really sure then. Looking it up is probably your best option, since I don’t seem to be of much help.”

“Oh, it’s alright. No one seemed to really know it. It’s American slang, so I can’t blame them, either. Its quoted definition is, ‘When a person got much more attractive over time. Usually compared between before and after puberty.’ So that’s... positive, at least.”

“When it comes to you, I have a feeling it means a bad thing, Tristan.“

“Contrary, it actually means that I’ve improved. Well, physically, at least.”

“Did she have any sort of speech impairment? Maybe she meant to tell you you really grownup but it came out like that because she’s bad with grammar and speaking.”

“No, it was American slang, I’ve found out. It meant that I had gotten attractive since she saw me when we were kids. The more ya know, huh?”

“I can honestly say I’ve never bloody heard that. Was she high by any chance?”

“No, just American. She was visiting some family here, but she spends most of her time in the States with her dad, I guess. It obviously show by the fact that she now talks in code.”

“Woah, slow down there. I was joking. We both suck at joking, then, don’t feel bad. Well, sort of. For now. I have a degree in Environmental Biology and you don’t actually need any formal training to be a florist.”

“Oh. Okay, that’s better then- well, not better that we suck but... We can work on it, yeah? That’s cool, though. I’ve never really been much food with flowers, it was always my nana’s type of thing. I would try to help and suddenly her garden would become a plant morgue.”

“Ah, I was never really good at math. I would have gone to a music camp though. I play guitar and piano. I would have loved to go and make music with a bunch of people. But you’re like sixteen. Why not travel and see the world? I miss home but I’m glad that I can say that I’ve seen Europe too.”

“I’ve always been really advanced, actually. Music must be fun, though. Do you like any genres specifically? I want to get through university and then travel, I think. But I’m seventeen, so I’m getting there. Do you at least visit home?”

“Sorry, Champ. Nicknames stay nicknames. You can’t fight me on that. I’m older, means I automatically win, Champ. Nah, you’re too young to be it. That just means you’re not paying attention to your peers, probably. I don’t get why on fleek replaced on point, I’m so disappointed in you kids. Not yet. Not yet, I can still fix ya’ up.”

“Oh.. fine, you can call me it. But one day I’ll shake it, I swear. I obviously don’t because I need a translator for a simple conversation with a classmate. I think I’m a lost cause. I might as well be ancient. I know more slang from the 1800′s than I do now.”

“Ah, see? That makes a lot more sense. American lingo is so confusing sometimes. I’ve gone a few times with my brother and sometimes it’s like they’re speaking a different language. You should definitely do that. I only like thinking about the good anyways.”

“Most definitely. I feel like it’s an entire other planet when I speak to people from there half the time. I did look it up, though. It means that I made a big transformation from being ugly as a child? During puberty, or something? Basically she told me that I became attractive.. I think?”

“That’s really cool. What kind of camp was it? Um, I’m from Seoul and it is great. I love how exciting it is. there’s always something going on and the music scene is incredible in Korea. I miss it actually.”

“It was a maths camp, sort of a retreat where I spent about a month with a bunch of other kids studying. It sounds kind of boring, but it was actually really, really great. That sounds amazing. I’m not really one for travelling, but it sounds like a cool place. If I ever do travel, I’ll be sure to stop there.”

“You’re welcome…but you were supposed to say I’m not old. I would have even accepted a ‘you don’t look a day over fifty!’ I was never good at it either and now I work at a flower shop. So see, dreams do come true.”

“You’re not! I swear, I didn’t think that you’re. I thought we were playing a joke, and you look older than nineteen so I thought that by saying I was a teenager it would go along with it and... I’m really sorry if I offended you. Did you want to be a florist?”
