You Can Call Me TK

I wrote Transcontinental a couple years back after losing someone very close to me. It felt nice to be able to share it with others.

Recently, I had a really difficult May. I lost a friend to suicide and I lost my dog to cancer. A few other things also happened, but that’d be getting a bit too personal. Regardless, long May.

I made It’s Not Working Out over about three nights instead of sleeping because sleeping didn’t feel possible anymore.

I know it’s not surprising and I shouldn’t feel this shocked, but with YouTube announcing recently that their tos states that all users immediately agree to having their videos used to train google’s ai, I’m just feeling lost

These songs and albums might be small and amateurish, but they mean something to me. Having an ai just scraping those and turning those moments in my life into slop just doesn’t feel right. I don’t know if there’s an alternative to posting on YouTube. I don’t really know what to do, honestly. I don’t wanna just disappear again. I have such a bad habit of that and I don’t wanna do it again, but it feels like anything I do is the wrong choice.

I enjoyed uploading music and every upload was something I looked forward to. I still have an unfinished project I’ve put about 30 or so hours into making that I’ll probably upload one day if I finish it. It’s been a bit more work than I expected and a bit more ambitious than I’d initially planned. I may even rewrite the music for it instead of a song I wrote in like 10 minutes lol

Sorry for the long post. I guess after the last upload being the one with a song that’s mostly me grieving, giving an update on why I’ll be off of YouTube for a bit is probably the right decision.
