Random Backrooms post but I really liked how backrooms were portrayed. There was much more to them than just classic yellowish, endless corridors, which we see a lot more near the end. These spaces are supposed to be inspired by what many other interpretations of backrooms call "levels" but in the movie, despite them varying from one another, they still feel like the same place, one unending labyrinth (which the yellowish walls in all of them certainly help).
Unlike some other versions, which make the levels feel like each one is another dimension disconnected from the previous liminal space.
Making backrooms just one separate reality, was a really good choice in my opinion.

Scraptrap is definitely a downgrade from Springtrap design-wise and he could've done much better proportion-wise (people talk mostly about his peanut head anyway). But the thing i hate the most are these weird fragments sticking out of his torso
Like the head looks stupid, I agree but these bits so don't make sense to be there it makes me angry
My prediction for fnaf 3 movie is that William as Springtrap is gonna be written (very consistently) in the same way he is in all the other continuities and many people are gonna genuinely hate it and call it "out of character".
Ironic since William seems to be one of the few things (in my opinion at least) Scott has written in a very compelling way with a clear idea. Oh well, let all hell break loose I suppose.
I feel like saying Vanessa is just another side of games Michael Afton isn't really a complete take on the character because I get what you mean but at the same time it seems like she's very purposefully put into the role of "unwilling helper" for William until she breaks away (or at least tries to) from him and his influence on her life just like SB Vanessa.
Sure that is a very different setting but her role is kinda the same, she's not possessed (I mean she kinda is now but you know what I mean) but is still put in a place of helplessness and is forced into very horrible situations

Unironically this is how I've seen people talking about how much they get of what's happening while watching (this is not about enjoyment of the movie to be clear)
Somehow the movie seems to be more confusing for people who have a moderate knowledge of the overall franchise than for people who have little to none at all.
GOD IM SO EMOTIONAL ABOUT VANESSA. her finally escaping her abusive family only for the only people who wanted her in their lives to reject her. and now she's alone again and has no one to keep her afloat/living a normal life. and i just know she's just going to fall back into her old life and join her brother again because he’s her only remaining family. and now she's in a new, terrifying situation via losing her autonomy to charlie similar to vanny in the games AND SHE'S DOING IT ALONE??? FUCK.

I am now seeing people antagonizing Vanessa again after the movie when will this suffering end
The number of things I see some people attribute to her being a "fake untrustworthy person" when they're a clear result of trauma and the need to have a way to protect herself is making me go insane
I haven't seen anyone bring this up so I suppose I'm the only one who's bothered by this but why do the missing children just move on at the end of FNaF 2 when they're fully aware that William Afton is literally still here?
Seriously, they show up last minute to beat the shit out of the Toys like those old SFM videos the climax of TTO like OKAY SURE- But then Goldie just tells Mike "btw we are leaving so when you-know-who inevitably comes back you're on your own haha good luck see ya in heaven" and???? I know the movies are their own thing and believe me I'm very happy they are but the children finding peace and moving on to the afterlife before William can be stopped for good genuinely bothers me. On one hand, good for them but on the other hand, HOW????
The movies have so many similarities with the novel trilogy so the children being dormant for most of the second movie the way they are in TTO following William's death makes perfect sense. However, in TTO the children are definitely not at peace/not ready to leave yet. They're triggered and awakened by the sole mention of William Afton's name. William might be dead but they haven't healed yet. They only find peace and leave forever at the end of TFC when William dies once and for all and when Carlton (with Michael's help) puts them back together- which I think is the equivalent of the Happiest Day.
By the way, Goldie and Abby's last interaction in the movie feels like a cheap Michael/Carlton last interaction from TFC. It would have been far better had Abby's life been on the line (like Carlton) and had Goldie been Abby's closest friend instead of random Chica Kid (the way Michael and Carlton were best friends). Plus, perhaps we could have gotten more of Goldie in the 2nd movie instead of this massive Toy Chica screentime... (Personal opinion but they really gave most of the screentime to the less interesting animatronic.)
Not only that, but Goldie leaving just like that is weird considering how the ending of the first movie seemed to imply he would keep William locked up and suffering? At least to me. It's as if Goldie was supposed to be the Vengeful Spirit before Scott gave the role to Charlotte instead. And even if this isn't the case, Goldie clearly was a special case regardless, being the only kid who could remember his killer, the most aware, the leader of his little gang... A spirit powerful enough to alter living people's dreams and who therefore could potentially, y'know- create a hellish neverending nightmare tailored specifically for his killer???
To be honest, I was prepared not to have any missing children moments in the 2nd movie so I was pleasantly surprised to have even one small scene with Goldie but the fact that said small scene is just him leaving with the others upsets me... No Happiest Day???
I get the nasty feeling that the children were gotten rid of asap only to have fμcking Michael Afton being introduced so that the third movie can focus more on the damned Afton family and don't get me wrong, I can appreciate the Afton family but not them taking the entire spotlight. I hate the presumed game canon Afton family BUT movie William and Vanessa work because not only do we have an actual dynamic between them but they also don't overshadow the rest of the story with their messy family drama. Vanessa also keeps a connection with the missing children through the implication that she knew them/saw them being murdered and is keeping her father's murder trophies which, by the way, were utterly wasted. I was thrilled when I first saw the trailer showing Vanessa get William's trophies from the box but in the end, the whole struggle between Vanessa and her childhood trauma is painfully rushed (which sucks because Vanessa's nightmare was 100% the best scene of the movie alongside the intro) and the trophies, which are the content of the goddamn Box™ end up being useless when I think they totally could have been used as a way to settle Happiest Day by giving them back to the kids or something for example.
Anyway, guess that means I won't have any ghost children in the 3rd movie except for Charlie... Missing children are gone and- so is Garrett I guess??? I don't know, I guess he just moved on right after his murder since we never ever saw his ghost. The 3rd movie will be 100% Afton family drama and people are already talking about how Vanessa could be a robot and like- It's okay, Scott. Bring it to me. Your cinematic universe was the last FNaF thing I had hope for but I guess nothing can hurt me anymore at this point. FNaF 3 is gonna be just like TFC: a nonsense trainwreck but at least it will be entertaining.
I know the movies being years apart is the biggest problem for those kinds of things considering that ghost kids from og animatronics would probably outgrow Josh Hutcherson by the time of 3rd movie but then at least they should've made the happiest day happen in the 2nd movie yeah.
I think it would improve the feeling of the movie overall if they added the happiest day at the end of it (not even talking about changing the current ending, just adding it after) cause then the absolute last scene wouldn't be a cliffhanger and instead a resolution to a plot point started in the previous film.
