Grafting in the vineyards: Field grafting is an old technique for changing the variety in a vineyard without needing to replant and lose any of the crop. When you plant a brand new vineyard, it take 3-5 years before there is a crop. This is a more efficient way. See this photo collage of the process. We often use this process in our vineyards.

Harvest 2017 – Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir Rosé

  Trione started harvesting grapes on Monday, August 21st – the day of the solar eclipse! – and so far, so good.   Yesterday we brought in Pinot Noir grapes for our Rosé. Veraison – a Vineyard Update

Veraison has started and the first grapes for our sparkling wine are scheduled to come in right around August 19th.  We will be harvesting Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, pressing that off and putting it into tank to go through fermentation. After fermentation, once our winemaker, Scot decides on the proper blend, the wine will be transported to Rack and Riddle where it will be put into sparkling wine…

News from Winemaker, Scot on Current Happenings in the Cellar
