This is one of my digital painting I did towards the end of 2020 while learning the basics of working with “light” in Photoshop and after having visited and gotten inspired by the collection of Egyptian sarcophaguses in Louvre during the brief period it was open during the summer of 2020. The woman holding up the moon/sun is Nut (Nwt) the goddess of the sky - “a star-covered nude woman arching over the Earth” as wikipedia puts it.
This garlic print is probably my favorite outcome of experimenting printing with vegetables!
As it often goes, I try to create something “nice” and then it’s late and I end up flipping the colors, because of Because. Let’s see if I still like the Green Queen better in the morning than the Pink one!
Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes vs Surrealist Vector Illustration class by @tomasives : practising how to deconstruct song lyrics, use the Golden Ratio grid and apply the concept of Horror Vacui / fear of empty spaces in art… I created this piece over the latest Parisian lockdown that I participated in over the winter 2020/2021 before I eventually moved away. Whatever it takes 'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins "I do whatever it takes 'Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains Whatever it takes Yeah, take me to the top I'm ready for whatever it takes" #surrealisticart #musicillustration #vectorillustration

In ancient Egyptian belief, the disorder that predates the ordered world exists beyond the world as an infinite expanse of formless water (the god Nun). The earth (the god Geb) is a piece of land over which arches the sky (the goddess Nut). The two are separated by air (the god Shu). The sun god Ra is said to travel through the sky, across the body of Nut, enlivening the world with his light. At night Ra passes beyond the western horizon into the Duat, a mysterious region that borders the formlessness of Nun. At dawn he emerges from the Duat in the eastern horizon. #digitalillustration #digitalpainting #photoshop #egyptiancosmology #colourpsychology #humanfiguredrawing
A quick Monday night sketch, resting my legs after an intense uphill/downhill hike this weekend with no wish to head to the gym tonight (a rare event!). Determined to get the creativty juices flowing and break out of the habit of late night working again... I have a follow-up in mind for this sketch :)
I am so incredibly proud of having used my own hands to put up the lamp and connect the electrical wires that seemed like black magic up to the moment I tried. It was also such a satisfying piece of work in the physical world. I have two more lamps to figure out and once the house is all set up I might eventually find the time start learning German.
