Art is Tricky

Now that Inktober is over, I think I’ll take it easy for a few days and work on my painting. In the meantime, I’ll continue to post whatever shows up in my sketchbook, without being too fussy about it. ;)

What did I learn from the challenge? It was a lot harder than I thought, but it encouraged me to explore drawing with with ink more. Next time, I might not double down on the challenge by focusing on Halloween themed images for every day, but that decision is eleven months away, so I have some time to consider my options. ;)

I’m drawing something cute and silly, again. I need to tighten up my inking, though.

I’ve come to the realization that maybe I’ve drawn horrible monsters for most of October because I’m cleaning out the weirder, darker corners of my mind... :p

What’s Halloween without evil clowns?

I’m inching my way back to cute and charming pictures.

I don’t know why I felt I had to go back to “creepy”: I thought I had that all worked out of my system.

Still trying to catch up, so this was a very quick drawing. I like his googly-eyes. :D

Witches, just doing their thing. My initial idea was to draw them in as typical “wicked witches” style, but they were having none of that nonsense.

I’m going back to drawing something cute, now that I’ve got some of the darker and weirder stuff out of my system.
