The Photography of Trevor Moore

So I broke out the drone for the first time this year to start taking some shots of the spring thaw. We've had some unseasonably warm weather in Northern Wisconsin this winter and even though climate change makes me nervous, it's hard not to like 50 degree weather in March. I've been shooting some video and still imagery of the spring thaw and this is a shot from that series. And sure enough, I jinxed us. We got about 4 inches of snow less then 24 hours after taking this image. Still, it feels like winter is almost finished....

I've always loved to create fine art photographs. For many years all I shot was black and white. The reason for this is I found it much easier to print black and white images then color. I have a high end Epson printer that makes phenomenal prints, but I've struggled with color. Anyways, I came across this old International tractor some years ago and captured this picture of the grill. I've printed this image and it looks great....but it also looks pretty cool in color. Since many of the images I've posted here are color, I thought I'd share this black and white image...for a little contrast.

I went out to shoot the supermoon a few months ago at a pretty little lake called, coincidentally, Luna Lake. I remember looking at the sky as I was waiting for nightfall and seeing this interesting cloud formation slowly moving into my shot. The photo gods must have been with me that night because they moved into my frame just as the moon was coming up. I took quite a few shots but this one, I think, turned out the best. There is a little "digital magic" here but I don't think it hurts the beauty of this pretty little lake and the supermoon.

It's a tradition here in the North Country to build a castle made of ice blocks when it's cold enough. The local fire department and a host of volunteers cut and mill the ice from a local lake, truck it to the center of town and construct the castle. It's even prettier at night because they put colored light inside the structure which shine through the ice cubes to give the castle some color. Unfortunately, the forecast calls for unseasonably warm weather in the 40's this week which really makes me nervous.... Hopefully the castle will survive.
