Here are some of the references I’ve been rudely hiding from you. Character blurbs under the cut!
Dakota
Dakota has never lived a day when she hasn’t gotten exactly what she wants. She asks for a new outfit, she gets a new outfit. She asks for a pony, she gets a pony. She asks to spend more time with her parents, they pay for another nanny to hang out with her. She asks to go to a shitty little daycare to hang out with other kids, that’s exactly what she gets. Taking this attitude into the daycare is a little problematic, both with Blaineley the brick wall and with her relationships with other children. Dakota tends to claim other kids as her own, and as they belong to Dakota she gets to control what they do and who they talk to. This obviously doesn’t go down well with a lot of other kids, especially because a lot of them are so headstrong. Aside from bossing people around, Dakota likes princesses, celebrities, movies and dolls. She also likes to put on make-up.
Scott
Dirtboy is into dirt. Scott is always covered in dirt and mud and soot, he often makes a mess all over the daycare just because he’s come right from the farm and his parents didn’t bother to clean him up. Scott is pretty high-energy, he loves to help on his parents on the farm and he likes to wrestle and fight with his siblings. At school, though, he’s a bit tougher. He doesn’t understand why he needs to do things like learn and get along with people. He’s gonna be on the farm forever! Besides, the daycare is boring. So, to make it less boring, he likes to mess with people. He likes to cause trouble and make things hard for people, he likes to see people in pain a little bit which I’m sure will not turn into anything as he gets older. Scott likes to play outside, he likes to climb and run. He thinks playing inside is lame and girly, which is criminal. He doesn’t like girls, they have cooties.
Sam
Sam is a very sweet little boy. He is polite and uncompetitive, he’s good at sharing and compromising. He finds it difficult to stay in a friend group, though. None of the other kids dislike him really, they just don’t go looking for him when he’s not around. They let him play with them, but they never go play with him if that makes sense. In response to this, Sam’s a bit of a drifter; he hangs around a different group of kids every day depending on who he thinks wouldn’t mind another person. Sam, of course, likes to play video games. He likes to sneak in his gadgets from home to play with at school, he has a LeapPad, a gameboy and a DS he brings the most often. He would be very happy to share his gadgets with someone if anyone was interested. When he’s playing with other children, he doesn’t really mind what they do. He’ll play whatever they want to play. He’s got no qualms.
Cameron
Unlike a lot of kids in the daycare, Cameron’s attendance at the school is infrequent and short. His mother, advised by one of the many doctors and psychiatrists she takes Cameron to in order to ensure he’s in perfect health, advised that he be taken to engage with other children. Y’know, to develop social skills. So, once a week Cameron goes to daycare for however long his mother can bare to leave him there (while also waiting in the car right outside the daycare ofc). Due to this limited timeframe, it takes Cam longer to get close to the other kids. He doesn’t let this get him down, of course. He’s mostly just happy to be here. Cameron is also significantly advanced for his age. He is able to speak perfectly and he is very literate. He knows the common names for nearly every bug, and he’s picking up the scientific names quickly. However, he doesn’t really play, he prefers to read and talk to other kids. That doesn’t mean he never gets roped into any mischief, though…
Hiiiii, I now have a blog up for specifically daycare au content! @roti-daycare-au
This means I will no longer be posting daycare au content to this account. If you see those designs from here on out, assume they’re my actual interpretations of their childhoods instead of an au :]

Hi, I love your Daycare AU with the ROTI kids you made. I have an idea for some great drawings for June 29th, since it's more or less International "Mud Day" (don't ask why I know). It would be so much fun to draw the kids playing in the muddy yard (especially Scott, it would be the best day of his life).
Although, of course, not all of them would like it... especially Cameron. That would be the funniest part, since this event exists to promote children's contact with nature to strengthen their immune systems. I can already imagine Blainley trying to drag him out of his bubble just so he can play, since it's a "state requirement" that all the daycare kidsparticipate in the activity.
But what do you think? It's just a suggestion I wanted to make... which is why I'm telling you 10 days in advance before the day.
Ohh that is really cute…. I will definitely try to make this I think, we’ll see if I can by the 29th.

Some reference sheets for the children. They are only two apples tall
Under the cut are their character blurbs
Brick
Every group of kids needs to have a crybaby and Brick is that kid. He is profoundly sensitive and takes a lot of things to heart, his favourite person is his mother and he cries both when she drops him off and picks him up from daycare no matter how integrated school is in his schedule. Despite this, Brick seems to be drawn to the harsher kids in his class, spending the majority of his time with them to the point he’s kind of clumped in with the ‘naughty kid’ label by association. As he is a weak link, Brick gets picked on a lot, even though he is very friendly to most he comes across. He has a wide range of interests, from guns and explosions to dollies and dresses. A lot of different types of kids find him to be relatable and fun to be around for that reason.
B
B is a mathematical wizard. He can count past 10, he can count past 20, why, I’d even say he could count to 50 if he put his mind to it. He can do addition AND subtraction. He can even count in 2s and 5s. But not only, B is incredibly creative. He loves thinking about solutions to problems, and enjoys causing mischief within these solutions. He loves to take apart things and figure out how to put them back together. B is kind and caring with the people around him, having younger siblings makes him good at being gentle and handling responsibilities. It’s no wonder that most other children like B, however they find it difficult to connect with him due to the fact he has selective mutism and does not speak. Fortunately, he finds friends anyway.
Anne Maria
She likes looking fabulous. Fabulous in an accessory type of way. Anne Maria has recently gained the ability to choose what she gets to wear and she uses and abuses it every time she goes outside. In that vein, she loves to play dress-up, she loves to play with make-up, and she loves to play pretend. Anne Maria has quite the temper, which blows up big and quick when something or someone ticks her off. As she has no sense of morals or behaviour, instead of throwing herself on the ground and kicking and screaming (although she is good at that too) her temper usually results in punching and kicking the subject of her irritation. Anne Maria likes to mingle with the other kids in the daycare, she’s generally friendly when not angry and gets along well with most. She does like to cause drama though that’s an issue.
