Chaukhambha Peak View Point !!! . This place i.e. Boodha Madhyamaheshwar Meadow is best place in Garhwal region of Uttrakhand state of India. It's the best viewpoint to see Grand Chaukhambha Mountain as a part Indian side of Himalayas. . Chaukhambha Mountain has a large massif comprising of four peaks ranging from altitude of 6854m to 7138m. . The famous Gangotri glacier(source of mighty Ganges) originates in a cirque below Chaukhamba I, the highest peak of the group. . Boodha Madhyamaheshwar is a infamous hiking trail of 17kms(one side) from Ransi village near Ukhimath town. Ukhimath is around 400kms drive from Delhi taking about 10-12hrs of time. Ransi Village is a small hamlet about 20kms further. From Ransi Village till Gaundhar Village it's fairly easy hike of 5kms. From there onwards till Madhyamaheshwar temple its all uphill of 11kms. . Best place to take halt is either Gaundhar Village or Upper Bantoli Village. There you can get a cosy room for 400-500 bucks. After Gaundhar Village you will get a food joint and resting place every 2kms. At Madhyamaheshwar temple also you get rooms for 500bucks per night. . Comeback Post after hibernation of several months :-) Chand Baori is one of the biggest stepwell situated in the village of Abhaneri in the Indian state of Rajasthan. . It was constructed in 2 stages by King Chanda of the Nikumbh dynasty, first stage as shown in front with rooms at 800AD and second one with 13 stories steps each of 5ft around 900AD. . One side of the well has a pavilion and resting room for the royals. The pavilion side separate chamber for both king and queen with common hall in middle. At bottom near water is temple on both sides. . Till water level depth of step well is around 65feet with 13 stories each of 5ft height. Below water level there is depth of another 30feet. . At the bottom of the well, the air remains 5-6 degrees cooler than at the surface, and Chand Baori was used for water harvesting along with community gathering place for locals during periods of intense heat. . Adjacent to step well is ruins of Harshad Mata temple which was destroyed by muslim invader from Persia, Mahmud Gaznvi in 12th century. You find the relics in step well campus. In most of the relics you can see faces of Hindu Gods and Goddesses were destroyed. . Lots famous Indian movies like Paheli, Karan Arjun, Bhoomi, Dhadak and lots more were shot here. Lastly, Dark Knight Rises was shot here. This step well was prison which was shown in movie. . Entry Ticket This is a protected monument maintained by Archaeological Survey of India. From September 2018 govt is going charge entry ticket for it, so far its free till August. . How to Reach ? If travelling by road its connected well from three major cities viz. 228kms from New Delhi, 93 kms from Jaipur, 163kms from Agra .
