I tried using a style similar to old shōjos again. It didn't look how I expected, but I think they still are cute✿ Using my color pencils again and using this shading effect was very satisfying ✨

And guess what? I started playing the games once again. Well, only mfomt for now, but b&g is my favorite so I'll probably try to replay that one too.

I miss sharing my thoughts, asking stuff and just interacting with the community like I used to, kind of, so maybe I'll do that again too, although it's been a while.

I really like the older ones because it made it look like Popuri and Rick were close to each others' ages; which makes their dynamic more interesting to me cos its either Rick is trying so hard to be older by being more of an overbearing older brother to her, or Popuri is willfully trying to ignore the newfound responsibilities she, an adult, has in the absence of their father.

Rick looked like someone who was trying to grow up too fast, Popuri looked like someone who was trying to stay as things were; but at the same time, Popuri also looked like a young woman who was rightfully lashing out/constantly bickering with her older brother (who didn't even look that old compared to her) who kept treating her like a kid. And Rick looked like someone who was trying to be older than he actually was when he and Popuri looked like they were barely two or so years apart.

Their old designs to me came across as like. A pair of siblings, close in age, who grew up close with one another. They would have been each other's best friends (along with Karen) when they were children. They played together, did everything together, and that dynamic completely changed when Rod left, and Rick had to become "the man of the house". Rick is forced to act as the anchor for the family, while Popuri is frustrated that she's being treated like a kid by someone who isn't even that older than her- and that same someone is someone who used to be her best friend.

Harvest Moon Magical Melody was my top comfort game growing up. The soundtrack, the characters, and having to stay actively communicating with the villagers, (despite the limited character dialogue at times 😅), to keep people there or else they’d move was fun!

I know this is unreasonable/unrealistic, but I wish I could be on the character design/ development team for this remake. It would be a dream come true to be able to contribute to remaking a game that meant so much to you growing up.

Another L from the Big N, ending online play for 3ds and wii u. Its lame considering the 360 and ps3 still have online servers up, but probably they just trying to shift to their new online systems for switch and whatever their next console is.
