things could definitely be better, but comparatively speaking, yes, i would say i’m happy with the way things are for us. i’m not afraid to leave my house unless it’s dark. i’m not afraid to stand up against government as long as i’m in a group. law enforcement, i feel, is a separate beast, and yes, i would say i’m scared of that.

humans don’t have different blood colours; we all bleed red. humans have different skin colours and other racial differences, which have created discrimination and oppression sort of akin to trolls’ hemoism, but all and all our societies are slowly recovering from that. it’s not nearly as bad.

i guess the easiest place to start is that there’s no centralized government for the whole species. personally, the section of the world that i live in functions as a democratic republic, meaning our leaders are elected by the general population every four years.

individuality and freedom in this part of the world are both highly regarded. safety is enforced, more or less. humans don’t like death very much, at least on a real-world level. you can get in big trouble for hurting someone else regardless of who it is or who you are.

we don’t have quadrants. the average human doesn’t really have ‘enemies’ so blackrom is completely unheard of outside of fiction, in which case it’s never addressed as such and rarely comes to fruition. our romantic relationships are most closely analogous with matespritship and moirallegiance combined. it’s most typical for a human to have only one romantic partner.

a human is like a troll, but squishy and mammalian. we are still troll-shaped, but we tend to be smaller, with more fat (on average) and less muscle (on average), comparatively. we are still apex predators, but more because of tools than claws and fangs. troll teeth are significantly sharper than human teeth, claws too, and humans also have softer skin, and no horns.

computers have a lot of power over our lives, and when combined with the exploitation of the ‘uncanny valley’ factor in not only appearance but emotional/societal behaviour, it can make for a pretty scary concept.
