Today is my Daddy’s 85th birthday. I contemplated posting because he doesn’t have social media, but I wanted to honor my Dad. He has been a wonderful husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to so many. My Dad always told me that with long life would God satisfy him, and God honored that. Daddy is fighting the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, but 7 years later, he’s still here and able to tell us he loves us. That means everything. It’s really hard to believe that you are 25! It really seems like yesterday that you made your entrance into this world at 5:14 am. You were my real life babydoll, a gift. I remember that morning after I had you, the phlebotomist was an older creole lady that said to me, “Darlin, make sure you give your baby back to God and He will always take care of her.” And so I did as soon as she left the room and it was just you and I. I have watched in awe how God has carried you through the best of times and the worst of times, but when I look at you, I see His promise. You are the one who gave me the best title of MOM. You grew up with me and your father. You’ve seen the good and the bad, and you’re learning, you’re growing, and I’m so excited to watch you fulfill your purpose. I pray that you continue to fall in love with Christ, and live for Him. I pray that the right love finds you at the appointed time and that He loves you like Christ loves the church. This morning, I was awakened to some news that I wasn’t necessarily pleased with. It was a situation where I could have reacted based on my emotions, or, I could keep my emotions in check, and let my light shine. I choose to let my light shine. My Bishop @jarron_c_oneal taught a powerful message last night and one of my take always was how the enemy uses our emotions to infiltrate us and pick us off. “Just because you can doesn’t mean you’re called” @marshawnevans I ran across those wise words this morning in a notebook and it reminded me that we are graced to be able to do things, but that grace operates greater when we’re called to do it. I remember I was working a job that was very intense. I did it, by Gods grace, but I wasn’t called to do that. I had to learn what my calling was. I selected this photo because yes, I can dance, but I am not graced to dance like @mistyonpointe . We all have a part to play, a calling to walk in. When we do what we’re called to do, it strengthens us collectively. Just a thought this morning. This morning on the lifeline @dr.keishalewis said, “Stop focusing on the negative, and focus on the positive.” If we really want to move into 2022 free we have to stop focusing on the negative. We have to take the time to forgive, give the offender to God so God can heal us. It’s not always easy, but forgive so God can heal us. I want to be the woman that God called me to be, and that requires me to be whole, so begin the process of being healed by forgiving. Some people want to remain broken so that people continue to give them attention and walk around with a victim mentality, but I am no victim, I am a victor! Everything we go through is party of the refining process and it doesn’t feel good. It’s something the enemy uses to keep people divided, but the plot is exposed!
