Put simply, it is very much intentional that Cobs has a father-figure-like presence over MePhone. That’s the concept. Whether or not you want to take it literally or not is your call. I would say they have that type of relationship, yes, and the more literally that dynamic is treated, per your perspective, the more dangerous it becomes in nature.
