"the world's wettest building" is a place that logically must exist somewhere but I will admit I had never once thought about it
Very Tom Scott coded video
Why is it called salmonella instead of chickenella
Had a dream last night that there was a recurring character on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody who was the king of Spain, and the explanation for why he was a different king than the real life king of Spain was that Suite Life took place in an alternate universe where Alfonso XIII was never deposed, there was no second Spanish Republic, no Spanish civil war, no Franco, and thus Juan Carlos never became king.
Which is a weird dream for me to have because like. I didn't even really watch The Suite Life of Zack and Cody as a kid.
Fully on brand for it tho
When I say "godspeed" (I say it a lot) I like to imagine I'm a member of a futurism religion that worships velocity above all else. Like its the standard well-wishing in my culture. Speedliness is next to godliness. Someday we'll catch him! And the closer we get the more he loves us

Thoughts on purgatory: one of the popes described it as an instant of purification while other sources (and even the Blessed Mother) have described it as more temporal.
What if the duration of purgatory is both? It’s instantaneous for the souls that trust in God’s mercy, so that they feel they were taken right into heaven and the flames or purgation were thought to be the pain of death, whereas those who do not trust so completely endure until however long God’s Justice demands. Thoughts?
Sorry it took me four literal years to answer your ask.
Obligatory I am not a theologian, but I've always believed it takes an amount of time proportional to how much and how bad the sins that still need remission are. Maybe @catholicapothecary has a more definitive answer?
You are correct and in agreement with Saint Thomas:
Supplementum Appendix I Article VIII
I don’t think one can licitly hold to an instantaneous purgatory, not on the authority of Saint Thomas but on the authority of Pope Innocent IV’s profession of faith to the Armenians wherein he says:
We ask if you have believed and now believe that there is a purgatory to which depart the souls of those dying in grace who have not yet completed satisfaction for their sins. Also, if you have believed and now believe that they will be tortured by fire for a time and that as soon as they are cleansed, even before the day of judgement, they may come to the true and eternal beatitude which consists in the vision of God face to face in love.
DS 1066-67
It also just doesn’t make sense holistically for the doctrine of purgatory itself for it to be instantaneous, in my opinion. Especially based on the mystic tradition surrounding the topic.
Did you hear about the kidnapping?
But then the kid woke up.

well yes it's very simple: both are bad
I didn't answer this almost a year ago when it came in, and so now I have no idea what anon is referring to, but honestly probably yeah.
