toreadorrr !!
sweet aromas of the café draw her in like a fly to honey ; it’s oddly welcoming and although she doesn’t need it , she wants it . as is the life of a toreador , wanting to cling to a shred of humanity . the overwhelming scents of fresh baked goods , various blends of coffee and tea , compel her to call forth the blood . the beast rattles at its cage , always hungry despite being satiated just enough , but dawn pays it no heed as her body temperature rises to an acceptable warmth and her breathing pattern becomes more natural . she orders some french macarons as a treat while her eyes scan the room for open seats . she’s almost certain no one would care if she joins them , however if they do , entrancement is her best friend — she doesn’t necessarily have to worry about the masquerade here , after all . there’s no corliss or council in sight to hold her to it . seemingly no second inquisition either , though they’re arguably harder to pinpoint . but hopefully it doesn’t come to that . this is still a public space , she doesn’t want to lose control over her beast here . once dawn spots a table with a single patron , she strides over .
“ mind if i sit here ? ” she sits down before there’s an answer . “ what’re you working on ? ” dawn gestures slightly towards the laptop as she takes her first bite into the macaron . ugh , what she wouldn’t give to taste them without needing to force her body into a living state . “ sorry if it’s personal or something . i always found it interesting that so many people choose to use public wifi . ” even before arundel’s technology ban for the ottawa kindred , dawn wouldn’t be caught double dead using public networks — it was dangerous enough as is thanks to the inquisition .
running a hand through her dark hair kate glanced back at the long list on her screen. before she could even read a word a voice came from above asking if they could sit down on her table, kate didn’t even get a chance to open her mouth to approve as the other woman sat down. leaning back in her chair kate looked back over at the tables added addition. “a long, long list of names that i have to profile, let’s just say that.” kate smirked as she held up her phone. “i use my personal hotspot.” kate set her phone back down onto the table next to her empty cup. “i’m smarter than i look.” gibbs would probably kill her if she connected to public wifi or anyones but her own when she is out of the office. ‘not using a public network for work’ is probably on his long list of rules, but at the same time it wouldn’t surprise her if he even knew you could get wifi in cafes such as this. “i just needed a change of scenery outside of the place i work. not to mention the coffee here is alot better than the coffee machine at work.” that park was more than true. it was the main reason she would get a drink before heading into the office, but having late nights working the machine coffee was all they had. kate just hoped today wouldn’t be a day like that. she had slept on the floor behind her desk one too many times.
