I started watching 9-1-1 during the S8 hiatus, and dove head first into the fics. I had a lot of free time for a few months this year, so I may or may not have read ~500 so far...

These are my top favorites! I read pretty much anything and everything, so I'll try to include all ratings and any key tags, especially those that can serve as warnings. I do like heavy angst at times.

Dazed and agitated, Ilya briefly starts speaking and responding only in Russian and the medics can’t calm him down. Luckily, Shane started studying Russian after Ilya spoke to him in Russian on the phone from Moscow. For no particular reason. Certainly not because he’s fallen in love with Ilya Rozanov. In Montreal with lingering concussion symptoms, Ilya is advised not to fly home for a few days, and the hospital won’t release him without assurances that he has someone to stay with him until his symptoms improve. Luckily, Shane conveniently has a condo in Montreal no one knows about and a few days before he has to travel again. But Ilya’s symptoms don’t resolve after a few days. Which is okay; Shane can handle it. He can take care of Ilya, study Russian, lead his team into the playoffs, and keep Ilya’s continued presence in Montreal a secret. He can do everything, no problem. He is Shane Hollander after all. or A whump fanfiction that is secretly a fix-it.

Buck?” “Buck?” Abby asks, looking up from her phone. “Wait, Tommy, you dated Buck? As in Evan Buckley? Firefighter?” Eddie wants to punch the satisfied smirk on Tommy’s face. “Yeah, I heard about your adventure with him.” “Hold up, you’re that Abby?” Taylor turns towards her with a calculating glance. “Oh. Yeah. That makes sense. You’re totally Buck’s type.” Ana glances at Eddie, “Awkward,” she says softly, amusement in her eyes. As if they're sharing an inside joke. “Did anyone in this elevator not date Buck?” Abby asks, crossing her arms.

Instead, it was like they didn't care at all. OR Buck is suffering as the 118 ices him out after the lawsuit, and he's forced to try and cope with the fact that the little family he had found didn't seem to care about him anymore. But when he gets injured and Eddie finds out, he learns the truth.

Eddie had been playing a round of pool with Buck, but if they’re going to get into this conversation, he’s got to nip it in the bud. “Nope,” he says.

So Eddie lays in a too-soft bed in a too-small cabin in the middle of bumfuck Nebraska, the first grey light of dawn creeping its fingers past the dusky pink curtains, and reads the postcard again. He knows what it says by heart, but it makes him feel a little less alone to hear Buck’s voice in his head.

And on top of that, he has to amputate his leg. And throughout everything, he has no one to turn to. What happens when Eddie finds out what happened to Buck by accident when he runs into him when taking Chris to PT?

Eddie was kind to a fault; if Buck just asked to be held for a little while, Eddie would probably indulge him. But a ‘probably’ wasn’t certain enough for his liking and Buck couldn’t handle another crushing blow tonight, both literally and figuratively. Tonight, he just wanted to pretend for one last time that Eddie was his in all the ways he wanted him to be and bask in the feeling of being held and safe in his arms.
