Arthur Pendragon was crowned King of Camelot at only seventeen, just weeks after his father, the famed God King Urther, was struck down in the final battle of his conquest of the Western Continent. That was seven years ago.
Now, Camelot demands a second ruler. Arthur reaches for relations with the other Continents. He finds one in the North, in the shape of Princess Guinevere of Cornwallis. Here she comes, the olive branch the North sends to Camelot, the offering upon its altar.
The legends are waiting to be written. It is time to move forward, and pen Camelotās story.
Guinevere is an interactive, text based story, available on both mobile and pc. Based heavily on the Arthurian legends, you play as Guinevere of Cornwallis, the youngest to the throne. The Love Interests.
THE KING
Arthur Pendragon | 24 | he/him
The ruler of Camelot, having been crowned at seventeen, with the weight of the world on his shoulders. He is your husband, and he greets each day with a winsome smile and sparkle in his eye. He wants badly to be your friend, your confidant, perhaps more, but will you let him? Or will you reject the notion and maintain a distance?
THE KNIGHTĀ
Lancelot du Lac | 28 | he/him
The Champion Knight of Camelot, Arthurās dearest friend. Famed for his exploits and tales of heroism, he is often the spotlight that nobility and commoners alike are drawn to. The attention, he seems to revel in. He is bold, and dedicated to your safety. After all, you are a ruler of Camelot.
THE WITCH
Morgana le Fay | 32 | she/her
The Kingās sister and closest confidant, Morgana is shunned and despised by the majority of court, but her high favor with the King keeps her elevated in a position of power. Like Lancelot, she is frequently the center of attention, but these whispers speak of her sordid past. She has no reservations about showing her hatred for you.
THE FAE
Merlin | 28 | they/he/she
The Kingās mage. Nothing is known about them, but there are very few who speak openly about their distrust. She is a member of the Kingās inner circle, and thus, to be treated with utmost respect. Fear, however, is a more common motivator for hospitality. At the least, they smile at you when you pass them in the halls. Must count for something, right?

god the anchor deterioration was so good. remember how terrifying that was when you had no idea what was going on, and every once in a while the inquisitor would spontaneously hiss and flick their hand in first surprise and then pain, and then suddenly control over them would be fully wrested from your hands as they writhed and cried out in agony, and the music was a drumming heartbeat in your ears, and finally you could see it fragmenting and dissolving with shreds of it drifting off in the breeze like it was nothing more than vapor after a detonation. yeah.

tragic: tumblr user develops new obsession(s) with media that none of their mutuals know or care about
Your DA love interest probably never brushed their teeth in their life.
Let that sink in.
Oh my god
I canāt believe it
All that obsessive research into medieval dental hygiene actually paid off
I was spending all this time thinking āLiterally no one cares about Thedosian dental hygiene, Amy, why are you wasting your time on thisā but HERE IT IS
So yeah, this isnāt actually true! While the toothbrush itself is a fairly modern invention, thereās a well recorded history of people in medieval Europe using a combination of various sweet-smelling mouth rinses and scrubbing their teeth clean with a cloth and a mild abrasive herb paste of some sort. Some common rinses included mint and wine or mint and vinegar, and pastes included things like marjoram and mint, rosemary and charcoal, and vinegar, pickling alum, white salt and honey.
Someone even tested a bunch of historical remedies out and found out that they were mostly pretty effective.
So rest assured, your DA makeouts are probably reasonably minty fresh!
To add to this (because Iām a goddamn nerd) the first toothbrushes, made from boars hair for the bristles and either bamboo or bone handles, were invented in 1498.
While thereās no set time period analogous to our modern eras in Dragon Age, there are a few things we can look at to try to range it.
Gunpowder was discovered in 870 CE. Cannons were invented in 1347 CE, and the Qunari have access to cannons and bombs via Gaatlok, so we can assume that at the least the Qunari are existing in a post-1347 CE time period.
The Orlesians are modeled around pre-revolutionary France, the French Revolution happening in 1799 CE, so so far we have a setting set somewhere between the 14th and 18th centuries CE.
But the big tell of scientific advancement across all of the nations and kingdoms is Varric Tethras and the Randy Dowager.
Varric is an author, he writes books. Specifically, books for enjoyment and pleasure reading. To write books like that there is a base assumption of high literacy and more free time for both nobility (Cassandra) and commoners (Harding). Higher literacy also requires a higher availability of literature, and the time intensivity of writing, transcribing a book by hand meant that Varricās book would not be widespread if weāre working in a world that still requires scribes and monks to hand write each page while following a master copy.
Enter the most important invention in human (and likely Thedosian) history: the Gutenberg Press.
The Gutenberg Press was invented in 1440 CE and was responsible for an ASTRONOMICAL leap in literacy and literature. Books became accessible, they became easier to make and multiple copies could be cranked out quickly. This meant that what could be created and written and published went from a select few (usually religious) texts to pretty much anything. Varric is an author, his books are widespread across Thedas, and in order to have the reach he has the printing press would have to have been around for at least a decade or two (1450-1460 CE). It takes a while for an invention like that to create jumps in civilization, so weāll say a cool ~1460 CE for the publishing of his first novel.
The next part is the Randy Dowager. The Randy Dowager is a quarterly magazine published and distributed across Thedas every few months for consumption by the masses. It features news, gossip and speculation. Itās not a traditional magazine like weād imagine in the modern sense and would be much closer to old periodical literary journals. The first of these ever was published in France in 1684 CE, and from there they gained quick popularity across the Western World. The Randy Dowager mirrors that, but is also one of the few in existence that we see referenced. For it to spread far and gain popularity, Iād give it around⦠say five years from first publishing and where it is in the first Dragon Age games.
Given all of that, the games take place in a technological and cultural amalgamation of between the Middle Ages and the end of the Renaissance, with technology and inventions that range between 1348 and 1690. Meaning that not only do they have ways to clean their mouths, your Love Interest does own a semi-modern bristle toothbrush and would have relatively similar dental hygiene standards to what we currently have in our own modern day.
So, we need to talk about what webtoons(the company) has done to webcomics
Over the past 7 or so years, we've seen this absolute shift in expectation, migration, and stagnation in the webcomics sphere which applies to style, sustainability, and the platforms grip on readers and creators
I'll be the first one to say that webcomics are not an easy way to make money and a majority of folks who make them rarely see profit. This has always been the case! But when virality, siphoning audiences from all over, and opportunity to 'get printed' presented itself, that expectation shifted.
So let's talk about what those expectations are now: š“Demand for Higher quality- less readers will check out beginner looking works or comics that feel too 'faulty' in style meaning less excitement to see webcomics grow over the years. Polish is expected and commented on consistently by readers
There is also an expectation for specific visual and narrative styles. This applies to other social media platforms too- in that works that take less investing in are often promoted and prioritised. That means less risks on narratives, less nuances, and shorter series running.
š“All on one site/app- That may seem pretty fantastic for getting new readers (and is the absolute main sticking point for so many artists) but when algorithms and specific series are wanted, your works have a harder chance getting to the people they need to. The search function is trash for a reason
I'm not one to toot the competition flute, but there's a level of that at play when the spotlight for that platform is actually pretty small. What you get is a lot of readers checking out the same comics, and not spreading it all out to find yours (their subs have a cap for this reason)
š“Sustainability (and lack thereof)- The creator of these comics are often burnt out and given little support- all while fighting to see what is allowed on the platform with its excitable censoring. I won't speak for originals (there's many testimonies you can find) but their experiences of burn out are harrowing
With the high production expectation for a person who is rarely given help (often has to hire out of pocket for that) and the readers who want Updates Now, it's a frustrating place to post your comics with no rest. It's 2026, we shouldn't be treating cartoonists this way still.
Webtoons (the company) is always going to be interested in making a profit. That's sort of where it all starts and stops here. They'll embrace the slop machines (more slop sources) for investors, they'll mistreat creators, cancel 'unprofitable' comics, censor work, and protect that bottom line. That's their MO, always!
So when I see these conversations that inevitably float around about Webtoons and how the only response is 'stop using it', I think we also need to deconstruct what it's done to creators and readers and how they engage with/create works too- because it doesn't seem that simple of a solution
Webtoons has solidified itself in webcomics as the Place to start and stop with comics. They want you to use their app of course, but they've conditioned folks to think it's the only way to share your stuff. How do we break this? How do we get people to stop using it?
We share resources š
Alternative Comic Platform: comicfury.com Comic Resource List: cartoonist.coop/resources/ Screen Tones Webcomic Website: screentonescast.com Webcomic Website Template: rarebit.neocities.org How to make a webcomic: thestarfishface.com/products/how... And feel free to reply with even MORE!
Thank you for making this post! For any webcomic creators interested in making their own webcomic website with a hosting service and wordpress, I have made a complete step by step video on how to do that, feel free to check it out!
Also, for webcomic creators who either make their own website or use a comic platform like Comicfury, consider using a peer-to-peer ad network like Comicad.net to advertise your webcomic and create ad space on your own website.
I'm always a huge advocate for webcomic creators making their own websites so they can be in greater control of their own work. There's more options out there, so don't let Webtoons be the end all be all for your comics existence!

r/knitting post of the day by u/Optimus_FineAsHell:
I was unknowingly working on a 35 foot long blanket for years
I started a blanket 10 years ago and put it down shortly after starting. It was on 30ā circulars and I just kept casting on until I couldnāt fit anymore stitches. I was new to the hobby so I figured it would just be āblanket sized.ā
I picked it back up about 6 months ago determined to finally finish this thing. I transferred it to 60ā circulars to give myself more working space, and during that transfer I counted 450ish stitches, but that would just be a big king sized blanket right? So I kept going. But after about 9 balls of yarn and only 2 feet in length finished, I gave up and decided I would just crochet the blanket instead.
Halfway through my crocheted version, I ran out of yarn and made the sad decision to frog the knitted project for salvage yarn. After removing the circular needles, I thought itād be interesting to see how wide the blanket actually was.
After straightening it all out I stared at my work, utterly dumbfounded, that I had been working on a 35 foot wide blanket this whole time. I am SO GLAD I did not finish this project as I wouldāve cried at the monster I had brought into the world.
tl;dr - You should really pay attention to the size reference chart on your yarn and count the stitches when free-handing as a newbie.
And finally, the blanket:
