So what’s the elevator pitch for your thesis?
literary apocalypse as seen in the book of revelation positions language as the very fabric of reality but apocalypse is the breaking apart of reality (in order to form a new one) which manifests in the breakdown of language. john of patmos approaches this by reimagining what language consists of in order to shape the reality of his apocalypse. compelling contemporary apocalyptic authors like jeff vandermeer do something similar by reimagining and breaking down language but while john still holds to the inherent structure of language vandermeer revels in the ability to communicate apocalypse by destroying structure itself. there’s a lot more to it and this is badly worded. someone can come shoot me now
