“Elise’s death was an accident!” He yelled, unable to control his voice’s volume at that point. “She jumped in front of me before I could stop...!” But Leo wouldn’t know that, now would he? A hand went to his head, trying to shut out his own doubts. “I have done nothing against my home to deserve that!” Surely someone on the Hoshidan side would have said something about that awful accident. Corrin wouldn’t let Leo think he’d done it on purpose.

His shock returned and it hit him like a raging Nohrian horse. Leo? “That... That’s impossible! He doesn’t know... He doesn’t know I’m even alive!” Or...did he? “Even if he did he wouldn’t do that to me!” Or...would he? Xander was so confused now.

With his name and title came shock. How was that possible?! His shock quickly turned to fear but he covered it with anger, glaring at the other man. He reached out to his side and gripped the hilt of a blade that was about his own sword’s size. “Who are you?! Who sent you?!” His only guess was that someone close to the Hoshidan royal family gave him away but this man looked more like he belonged in Nohr.

His unease skyrocketed and he was suddenly glad he had weapons around him in case he needed them. He took a step back, a bit closer to the inside of his shop. “Is...Is there something wrong?”

Feeling a presence nearby, Xander looked up from his wok and spotted the stranger. There was something...odd about the person. The aura they gave off was almost heavy and it carried a lot of power. He started feeling uneasy so he spoke up. “Hello? Is there something I can help you with?”

Rumors had traveled around the small village that someone new had arrived. Given how small the Hoshidan village was it was probably true. However, Xander did not seek them out. He was sure, as the blacksmith, whomever would come to him eventually. And he really did not want to make himself too well known. One day as he was finishing his work he caught a glimpse of someone in a hooded jacket. It seemed the rumors were true as no one here dressed that way.

“With your attitude I’d be surprised if you didn’t hear it daily.”

Now he’s grumbling. “You’re impossible.”

He sighed. “She’s not as forward as you. She asks things subtly.”

“So? That doesn’t mean be rude about it.”

“Persistent is the better word. She’s always been that way. And you could have at least politely turned her down.”

“Don’t be rude.” He’s got his eyes on you, wyvern rider.
