Deities: Aphrodite, Pamona, Athena, Hera, Ithuna, Persephone, Freya, and pretty much every fertility goddess under the sun.
Apples have a LONG history of being associated with witchcraft and the otherworld. It starts at the beginning of time- that is according to the christian myths- when Eve was tempted with the forbidden fruit which led to the downfall of humanity and the earth; which according to many was the famous apple. The apple was also significant to us pagans as well. The Druids saw it as a sacred fruit, and the Celts had apples growing in their underworld for their dead to eat during the winter before the resurrection of their goddess Olwen. It was so sacred a fruit in fact to some peoples; that to chop it down in some Irish civilizations brought the death penalty. In norse mythology, Idun the goddess of youth protected a sacred apple orchard; which kept the gods from aging. In roman/ greek mythology the apple also had significance with Persephone, Hera/ Juno, Aphrodite/Venus, and Athena/ Minerva. But perhaps the most significant deity who is associated with apples is Pamona; that is really all she is associated with actually, being the goddess OF apples.Ā
Represents/ has associations with: immortality, fertility and female sexuality,the sacred goddess, the underworld and death, regeneration, eternal life, the spring, magic and sorcery, love (romantic and sexual) divination, healing, what is forbidden (i.e. āthe forbidden fruitā) temptation and sin, poisoning and poison, deception,the female body and reproductive system,Ā samhain and the thinning of the veil,forbidden knowledge, the pentacle, good fortune, abundance, happiness, and much much more!
Some Ideas on ways you can use apples:
- When creating a fertility altar, set the apples within it as an offering or as a representation of the female womb.Ā
-Use it to represent the element of water or the planet of Venus during invocations or rituals when you need to represent these things
-Use in love spells to signify lust, desire, or even temptation. Props to you if you give it to the person whom you are trying to seduce ;)
- Scatter around your house or residence during Mabon or Samhain for decoration
- Bury it during Samhain as an offering to the dead

I was taking a complete break from my craft and my worship, not because I no longer believe, but because I was very ill and exhausted and the mercury retrograde is never a good time.
