Victoria examines the delicate silver chain in her hands, then tilts her head to look curiously at her girlfriend.
"I mean," Cassie half-laughs, rubbing the back of her neck, "you're always staring at mine. And I thought this was pretty...Fuck. We've been only dating like three weeks," she rambles on, when Victoria starts looking embarrassed, blushing, "it's too much. I'm sorry. It's way too much, I'll just,"
she steps forward to grab it, but Victoria snatches it back, and now she's ...giggling?
"Um, Cass," she leans forward to kiss the older woman quickly, "I already have a necklace. I wear it all the time. And...you know...."
They both wince, for different reasons. Cassie, because she thinks her gift is being rejected; Victoria, because she's about to tell the truth.
"I'm always staring at your chain because it's really...really attractive on. you."
Cassie's grimace turns into a delighted smile. She reaches forward to caress Victoria's cheek, "Oh, really?" She asks teasingly, "you wanna yank on it or something?"
Victoria swallows down a moan, "Fuck. We're at work," she looks over to the closed breakroom door, "technically..."
Cassie steps back and cackles, happily, "I was joking but - wow. Noted."
There's an anticipatory pit now, low in her stomach.
She winks to cover it up.
"ohmygod," Victoria bites her lip in response, absolutely mortified. Looks away, instead focusing on the necklace still laying in her palm. Considers for a moment.
"What if you brought it back where you got it...and you had it made into matching bracelets?"
Cassie's heart melts.
