It's been a week now. It has been surprisingly easy, once I made the concrete decision to not touch it. Going back to the site, it actually feels like I don't actually need to be on there. I just think it's detrimental to art, but I already did that with the main account like more than a year ago, and there is no going back, so what is the harm here.

I started twitter detox thursday night, thinking I really need to take a break from that hell site. I started at least a year ago by stopping myself from using the main twitter account, so I hide out in the side fanart account. But lately I'm encountering the same problems again: the endless negativity. I already avoid most discourse, block all discourse prone people, but those hashtags won't leave me alone. It's the ComicsBrokeMe one. I made a decision to not talk about it at all on tiwtter, so I won't talk about it here either. It reminded me that I don't need to know every single mundane thought of my friends or artists that I follow. Even if they are *good thoughts*, there's a chance that it would not matter if I missed out on knowing.

I should replace the act of scrolling twitter by watching netflix or youtube, or doing anything else. I have a pile of library books that I haven't touched. It could be mindless consumption of some random anime, I'd be entertained, maybe learn something new, instead of being angry at the world that I can't change.

When twitter was getting sold, I thought I'd wait for an alternative social media platform. You know, the artist thing to make sure we are visible and around. It probably doesn't matter anymore, because people will be people. The messy toxic part of tumblr went on to twitter, they exist all the same. When there is a new platform, the same people will migrate and engage all the same. I think I'll chill here for now.

I'm at the point where doing these don't exactly improve my skills, and I'm not really mentally stimulated in anyway. I still miss the in-person sessions though.

diy easel board?

so I need an easel, and I thought of attaching the stand from my drawing display (which is now on a monitor arm) onto a piece of board, and call it an easel or slanted drawing board.

The only thing I needed to buy was the square dowel rod.

I don't want screws to be poking out the front, so I used the dowel to add some thickness. The piece of plywood is something pre-cut from the art store that was meant to be used as either a canvas or drawing board or watercolour mount. I just glued it all together with wood glue since my staple gun was not heavy duty enough to go through the dowel.

I also put a piece of dowel in front for the lip.

It's too straight forward there is nothing to say about screwing on the stand.
