âOh, I found you! Thatâs awesome!â Cheryl was all smiles as she trotted to the bar after him like a puppy. She stood a bit behind him, a little afraid of the female bartender who seemed to have a problem with her.  âSo I was looking for a job in the area andâ-â
She trailed off, only now realizing what this smiling man had just said.  âSorry,â she replied slowly, âbut did you say your name was Lucifer?â Â
He took note of her more chipper personality as he told Maize to head off to help the other end of the bar. He reached over the bar and grabbed himself a bottle of scotch to help himself to. He turned his head to look at her, pausing a bit. He chuckled, âWhy yes silly. Like the Devil.â he winked.
He started refilling his glass and kept his eyes on the liquid âSo you said you were looking for a job. Why here?â He asked quizzically.
Cheryl chuckled along with him too, although she was honestly aghast.  âIâm so sorry,â she wheezed, leaning on the bar and shaking her head.  âWhat kind of parent names their kid after the devil? Oh my.â She swept her hair out of her face and watched him pouring a glass of some amber liquid. Â
âWhy here?â she repeated, her smile fading into a frown.  âWell, I moved here not too long ago and it seems like Iâve been on hundreds of interviews and Iâm running out of money and Iâm just going down the line of nightclubs right now.â She sighed, eyes on the bar top.  âI had hopes here âcause I see you have a piano. I play too.â @tooxmanyxfacesâ
Ah, yet another feeble human who just couldnât believe the devil really existed in the flesh. âYou know believe it or not the name was pretty original at the time.â He offered an in the know grin, only to be disappointed that she wouldnât get his inside joke. He smudged the grin away as he took a sip of his drink before setting the glass down and turning to look at the baby grand sat in the middle of the club.
âAhh, a fellow musician! I do enjoy tickling the keys if you will.â The grin returning so effortlessly. âYou know we are in need of another bartender, and maybe a musics bartender?â He suggests, feeling Maizeâ glare piercing the back of his skull.
