#the camerawork of this scene still takes my breath away #the blocking does some heavy lifting too. how barb concedes out of frame and the power (camera angle) shifts to cooper #and as soon as she re-enters to deliver the line that pulls the rug from underneath cooper the power balance equalises again #neither of them is wrong. neither of them has the moral high ground. both of them are right and are fighting to protect something priceless #the mf CAMERA is telling you that neither of them is evil or reprehensible. both of them are desperate in trying to do the right thing

suddenly overcome with the notion of: why would they introduce a bunch of ghoul children and end up doing nothing with them in s2, if not to lay the groundwork for introducing a different, specific ghoul child later in the show
