He had been writing letters all morning at this point, but this one he had to make a bit special. Arthur was a dear friend of his, or at least, had become one since his time on Arcadia and working with him on various projects. So this one had to be a bit more special.

“Salutations Arthur,

I hope you are doing well on this lovely day. It’s the flower festival, and what better way to spread good will than to send flowers. I do hope you enjoy these. City hall might have been selling them, but I still had to pay for them, you know.

I jest. Hopefully we can meet up again sometime, perhaps for some more tea. Or perhaps we could take a trip somewhere. Either way I will see you again.

After receiving some flowers from his dear fencing buddy, Max, he decided it would be best if he sent back some flowers to him. 

Of course Max’s letter would be quite the charmer.

After hours Gill took the time to place the flowers he’d just purchased from his city hall mates on each one of their desks with a note.

It has been a lovely flower festival, and I believe the event has gone off without a hitch. I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication to this job. Without all of you, Arcadia wouldn’t run near as smooth as it does. To all my friends here at the Arcadia City Hall, I wish you luck for the future and all the coming events.

Sitting in each employees mailbox was a neatly tied arrangement of a yellow rose and purple anemonies. A small hand written note was attached.

Seeing as the flower festival is under way I feel it would only see right to show my appreciation for my coworkers, thus these flowers are in your mail box. Despite us probably not talking much outside of work I do consider each and every one of you a friend in some regard, and admire the hard work you all put into the library. Let’s continue to grow as co-workers and as a business. I wish you luck in all your future endeavors.

“Curse this racket.” 

Gill huffed as he peered outside the far window of the Grand Oak Library. A mighty typhoon was raging outside. Likely the first of many as the season was starting to begin. 

He had holed himself up in the library for goodness knows how long, working on all kinds of paperwork, from plans for the academy, ideas for city hall, and even some event ideas for the library itself. It was in that time that the weather turned bad, and it’s officially turned worse. And, not wanting to leave the comfort of a building to potentially ruin his clothes, or worse, he stayed inside.

A kettle was put on the stove in the library’s small cafe as Gill had taken a short reprieve from his work to make some tea. It wasn’t like anyone was going to come into work anyway today, so he had the whole library to himself.

Well, he thought he did, until he heard a long banging on the door.

His head perked, brow cocking in confusion. “Someone outside? In this weather?” He mumbles and jumped as the door was banged on again. Prompting him to hurry over to the front entrance. He opened the door, letting it quickly slam open against the wall.

There was a proud smile stretched across Gill’s usually bitchy face. His dish turned out wonderfully, at least in his mind. And of course it was one of his favorite dishes. Tomato Risotto and Crispy Chicken Breast. The breading of the chicken made from crumbs, some spices, and Parmesan. 

“Hmm,” he hummed, letting the tomato-ey fragrance waft to his nose. It was so good he could hardly give it up for the judges to taste.
