My post grad work permit is being denied, so I, legally, am not allowed to work in Canada right now. Hence: Freelancing.
“What are you going to do now?”
Freelance and a family member has offered to help me enroll in another Canadian school to try and apply for a post grad work permit… again.
Otherwise: A Big Canadian company could adopt me… but there is a ton of red tape that comes with that venture for them.
“I wish I could commission you right now, but I’m broke, too!”
That’s okay! You can still help out by spreading the word about my commissions! (and nice comments… and pastries…and tea…)
They are the fastest way to get some funds since the money from my last job runs out VERY SOON.
“Why can’t you take on some huge freelance project?”
I can, but I need money right away, so commissions are needed to fill the gaps during the next few months.
“I saw you have a Patreon, why can’t you use those funds?”
That Patreon is reserved for the cost of production for the Devil’s Cake webcomic and it’s printing. The funds are not to be used otherwise. That is my sacred vow.
However, you are more than welcome to make donations to my Patreon or PayPal.
“How long will you be open for commissions?”
Until I secure a day job, which I will be able to do once enrolled at a school, again.
“Why do they cost 65$ USD each?”
I go by an *hourly rate. My hourly rate is calculated by my living expenses (Low: frugal), experience level (High: working since 2008), the territory I work in (Canadian Dollar vs US Dollar).
*You can find out your hourly rate with a freelance calculator app such as the “My Price” app.
“How long will my commission take to be completed?”
Commissions will be queued in order of …well, when they were ordered. After that they will be done on a steady, regular basis. I will keep you updated on the general Delivery date of your individual commission.
“What if I don’t know what my character looks like?”
I can do a rendition of your character from what information you give to me. Photo examples are also an accepted form of reference.
“Will you do fanart commissions?”
“I saw that you also do more…erotic art, could you do one of THOSE for me?”
I’m afraid those types of works cost more for the added technicalities/details. No erotica/porn/erotic art will be offered this commission round.
