Photographer Matt Wong at the 3rddg booth with his excellent new book, Time Machine Random.
The V Photobook Fair is a two-day event sponsored by the Photography Department of the Tokyo Visual Arts Academy that’s held at Creative Space Akademeia 21 in Harajuku.
The vendors are a mix of Tokyo galleries and Japanese photobook publishers. Lots of familiar faces!
It's a nice size event- there are just enough booths that you can see everything but not feel too overwhelmed (see: Tokyo Art Book Fair).
Since this is the second consecutive year for it, I think it's safe to consider it an annual event.

In Shibuya in March of 2026 I was slowly passed on the street by a clean, brawny 1970 Chevy Nova. I took a few iPhone pics and then snapped a few frames with my M6.
I was messaged a few hours later after posting an iphone pic of the car to my Instagram stories by a man who told me that it was his brother's car. Both brothers, in addition to cars, have good taste in cameras. He put me in touch with the Nova's owner, Koken ( Instagram ) and this week I had the pleasure of meeting them and giving them a few 5x7 prints of his car in Shibuya that March afternoon. It is a great feeling to get to share photographs with people you pass (or, in this case, passed by).
