a new chance {lalala intro}
There was a happiness that naturally swelled within her. She made sure to nod (albeit lightly) to confirm if her own words had not triggered the other. He wasnât the only one who was surprised to see the other, the Tohsaka still couldnât believe it. She smiled, almost wanting to touch the edge of the same burgundy suit he had always worn when around the house, but refrained from doing so.Â
She was a big girl now (as ⌠awfully childish that sounded), she wanted to show her father how much she had grown. And to maybe prove that when he had passed, that his efforts did not go to waste. She had wanted to become a magus that not only she could be proud of, but the other, if he were to ever see her again. The thought was foolish, at the least, and she knew it. There was some sentimental value in the thought, she would conclude, and would continue to read whatever text she had been practicing.
But the matter of fact was that this was .. actually happening. And it was still hard for her to believe. All she knew was that she was a bit too excited ..! Rin didnât expect a hug, or perhaps a touch of handsâ
âshe was fine with him by her side.
âEverything went fine,â she said, perhaps a bit too quickly but she calmed herself. âYes, it worked wonderfully, father. Iâve progressed proficiently since your,â she paused for a brief moment, trying to find the right words for what she wanted to convey, âyour absence.â
He hadn't ever considered that Rin would fail in taking his position as head of the Tohsaka-family. She was talented, very talented, and there wasn't any space of doubting that. It was only natural, the Tohsaka-family brought out nothing but the strongest magi for generations already and it'd be more than disappointing, if this tradition ever stopped.
Fortunately, things obviously had gone well so far and his daughter had become what she was fated to be. A strong leader with the fitting attitude she needed to properly represent her family. Tokiomi had to admit though that he still needed to get used to see his daughter at this age, had she only been a little girl during his actual lifetime. He always had wished for her to become a strong woman who would be successful in everything she was doing.
"That is good to hear, Rin. I am glad my expectations in you haven't been too high and due to me being present again, I will test you to see how strong your abilities really are by now once there is a good chance to do this."Â
Of course he didn't think that her words were lies, she had enough honor to not be a mere liar, but as her ex-mentor and father he had the duty to challenge her.Â
