Since there is a wave of anti-birth control propaganda, this is your reminder that the birth coontrol pill was responsible for 30% more women graduating with college degrees between 1970-1990
Also a whole lot of people need it to hold down a job or stay in school regardless of reproductive risk: it offers menstrual control. It can be the difference between debilitating, bedbound periods and normal function. It’s medicine. It’s also very cheap to produce and returns soooo many thousands of dollars to the economy for every dollar it costs, so don’t let anyone make a false financial argument about it.
I didn't use it because when I went to get it the pharmacy was out so asked again for what I wanted to begin with which was a copper iud... while I love that it lasts 10 years and is the most effective I bleed over 3 weeks a month for the past 6 months. While most of it is light I didn't expect so frequent spotting, but I read it usually goes away by 6 months to a year, which is super annoying. So I'm sharing this because if you don't want your period use the pill or a hormonal iud. All birth control is good. I don't mean to add fuel to the anti-birth control stuff by complaining. The antis probably got to me too because I just didn't want a hormonal and now I'm dealing with the consequences. Still glad I'm relatively safe for 10 years.
what is this genre of photos called

how do I find joy and whimsy again when it feels like everything in my world as well as the literal world, is on fire?
I’ve answered this question before but I don’t mind asking it again. Because a lot of the world is on fire these days. And it sucks
Generally as a blanket statement, I have a few good close friends that I can reliably laugh and cry with each time I’m with them. A source of community is the greatest buffer against poor mental health. We were meant to be in community with each other; if we’re not, we hurt. So find your community! Laugh with your friends! Be comfortable enough to cry with them! It works wonders💕
Also, connecting with nature is a big thing for me personally. I don’t go on walks super often because it gets pretty hot where I live, but even just driving and noticing the birds and the trees really helps. If you can go on nature walks this might help, and even if you’re in a big city, walking around and taking time to notice the people and their lives may help too.
It’s so hard to have joy and whimsy these days but we must persist! Because a world without joy and whimsy is a world I don’t wanna live in🫧
“Hope” is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all - And sweete
