Ever heard of Boo-Hoo Wimps? It was a Halloween episode that Joseph created for Josephâs World. But did you know that this episode had an earlier counterpart?
According to the JTS wiki, the episode title was Donât Wake Brother, and itâs another banned episode of Josephâs World, and unlike the infamous Josephâs Schoolday episode. This episode was never made, and no footage was made. Why? The official reason was because it was considered too intense for the plot of the show.
Josephâs World is intended to be more of a laid-back show, just like King of the Hill, while maintaining some comedy. Josephâs World doesnât need to be big and intense to be entertaining.
Back on topic, this episode was never made, we already know, but it is very easy to understand what the plot was due to available teasers from the community page on the official JTS YouTube channel. It was likely going to be about Joseph and Shellin traveling into the dreams of Zach.
However, these appear to be nightmares, as one of the existing teasers showed Joseph and Shellin falling into a disturbingly realistic mouth with sharp teeth with Zach in the bottom sleeping in the bottom with claws approaching him. Interestingly, this episode was planned to introduce the disturbing ghost from Boo-Hoo Wimps called the âShapeshifting Spirit.â
Thatâs it; this episode wasnât on the level of disturbing like Josephâs Schoolday, which dived into darker tones like bullying, depression, and eventually suicide.
Not to mention, even in more recent episodes like the aforementioned Boo-Hoo Wimps episode, the show is starting to show blood more often but is pretty tame.
You would think the story ends right here, but it actually doesnât. As this supposed episode was randomly uploaded to the channel in place of Boo-Hoo Wimps, not by Joseph, the episode was never made. Now if it was never made, then what is the point of this story then? Well, this upload was actually created by a âfanâ who hijacked the channel and uploaded this fan-made version of the episode.
You canât find this episode on the channel as it is now deleted and replaced by Joseph immediately. However, I managed to save this episode onto my computer before it got deleted; it went like this.
The episode started with the usual intro template with the three main characters and everything, but thereâs something noticeably weird. While the âDonât Wake Brotherâ text shows up, the text didnât align well like the other episodes, as the episodes use the same font as The Three Stooges in the intros.
The animation itself was not like Josephâs usual style; it seemed fan-made, which makes sense. But the animation clearly tried to emulate his art style, as it seemed similar. Joseph, Zach, and Shellin looked far more off-modeled than the usual episodes; the style looks to be a mix between the art style from the older 2018 episodes but mixed with the modern episodes because of the noses and necks.
It started off with a birdâs-eye view from the window of Zach sleeping in bed. It was quiet at first, but there was the unsettling sound of what seemed to be him snoring in his sleep, which sounded very deep; it sounded super loud as if heâs sleeping next to you.
I know. It is odd to bring up something disturbing right when the story begins, but keep listening; this episode will get interesting and downright horrifying.
It wasnât long until Joseph and Shellin showed up; they were outside of the door, peeking at Zach above each other. However, the pupils made it hard to tell whether they were staring at Zach or the viewer; it was clear that they were supposed to be staring at him; the pupils were also easy to tell that theyâre watching the viewer.
Then Joseph spoke to Shellin: âSometimes, I wonder what heâs dreaming about.â
The screen then cuts to Joseph and Shellin just lying next to each other on the bedroom floor; however, the poses were drawn in a way where you can interpret them as though they were murdered in the dead of night. But they had tubes connected to each otherâs heads; they were lying between Zach as he slept in bed.
The dreams were just as expected; they were pretty disturbing. They were tame and a bit comedic as expected at first, such as Zach waking up to find himself kicked out of his college. Well, that is undeniably tragic but Zach did panic in an overly dramatic and funny way, another dream showed him heading to school naked and being embarrassed as heâs noticed by everyone, the odd part is how thereâs full frontal nudity, and other tame but embarrassing scenarios.
However, when Joseph and Shellin showed up, things quickly got disturbing, especially right when the Shapeshifting Spirit showed up. There were sequences of Joseph, Zach, and Shellin being chased by something which resembled a black blob which seemed to morph into an insect that moved behind the purple couch seen in the episodes.
The next sequence showed them running towards a red door which was possibly meant to be Zachâs bedroom to seek refuge from the creature, the three breathed heavily out of fear, with Shellin dramatically hyperventilating in the process and being his usual comedic self. However, as the trio turned around, it was another hallway with three doors on both sides.
Then a deep voice spoke: âThese are your dreams, check any out but each of them has an exit, check them all for the exit.â
The trio entered the first door on their left and it led them to a seemingly normal scene. Joseph is seen talking to somebody, he noticed the trio and waved at them. The actual Joseph waved at his counterpart and the other pointed out the window.
Suddenly, the bright blue sky outside then got set to flames and out of nowhere, as Joseph commented âLook at the windowââ as his skin started to melt. It was similar to the scene from the Simpsons where in an episode, Homerâs face can be seen melting.
Josephâs facial expression was frighteningly similar, his brain was exposed, his ribcage was exposed under the shirt, and his eyes were rolling back. The detail in the gore of this scene was frightening, and what made it disturbing is how the art style eerily matched Josephâs style.
The trio stared in horror at the house slowly melted away and became decrepit, as the melting figure crept closer until they found no sign of the exit so they left the room and headed back to the hallway.
Joseph opened the next door and Zach and Shellin followed inside, it was just the living room in its normal state. Suddenly a knock was heard in this scene, and Zach opened it, and Bobert was there.
At this point, no dialogue was heard in the remainder of the episode aside from faint âeepsâ and âeek!â Which were comedic enough to lighten the creepier side of the episode.
Anyway, Bobert just stood there staring at the gang as he said âA PIZZA FORââ then before he finished, his face melted off as he opened the box and his flesh melted onto the pizza.
Joseph, Zach, and Shellin stared and let out a gut-wrenching scream which was so loud and horrifying as if the actors got their necks slit open.
They then ran out of the door, again, no exit. They tried the last door for the left side of the hallway. This time, it led to the same endless hallway but with a new door to the middle. Joseph and the others ran to it, but they heard rummaging behind them.
The Shapeshifting Spirit, in the twisted form of Joseph, started chasing the trio as they broke down through the doors in front of them until the spirit left.
Joseph looked back at the trio: âWell, we lost that thing. Zach, is this really what you dream about? What is even wrong with you?â
Zach responded: âDude, I have no control over what I dream, they just happen.â
Joseph scoffed and responded: âNah, it is the horror movies man, chill out, mkay?â
Something about the comedic dialogue in this episode is kind of disturbing, simply because of how forced it is at certain points of the episode. Of course, it is comforting but still.
The episode then resumed, as the trio entered the first door on the right side. Then out of nowhere, a ghostly arm grabbed Zach and pulled him away.
Joseph and Shellin needed to rescue him, they were just swimming in this empty void until they started plummeting into the darkness.
They were screaming. Then out of nowhere, they were swallowed up by the realistic disturbing mouth with sharp teeth.
They were back in the hallway and tried the next right door. Still no sign of Zach or the exit, Joseph and Shellin were just in a decrepit version of their house like from the melting Joseph dream. Then out of nowhere, Joseph and Shellin were ambushed by the monsters from earlier, the melting Joseph appeared from the darkness, Bobert, the sharp teeth in the window in the dark which implies nighttime and the Shapeshifting Spirit.
Joseph and Shellin were shaking then they turned at the hallway and saw Zach waving at them before running into a dark room, they followed with the monsters chasing them.
The trio made it back together and headed back to the hallway with the three doors on both sides. They tried the final, and they were back in Zachâs bedroom from earlier. They saw Zachâs sleeping body, in this case, Zach saw himself sleeping in bed.
Joseph and Shellin found the exit, it was the closet as a glow was coming from the cracks. Zach then noticed they needed to find a key to unlock the closet.
This is when the episode took an unexpectedly violent turn. The key was inside of Zachâs body in bed, now, I know what's going to happen but I know if this episode was made by Joseph, it wouldn't include any moment like this.
As the screen zoomed on the wall, Zach was tearing open his sleeping counterpartâs chest. He did it with his bare hands as the episode showed the shadow of whatâs happening but it was clearly easy to tell as there were sounds of skin tearing as blood started to splatter on the wall.
There were even guts and organs poking out of the stomach wound. Joseph and Shellin were watching this scene unfold and Joseph comically pulled out a bucket out of nowhere as he threw up.
Zach himself could feel the pain as he collapsed on the ground and dropped the key on the ground, Joseph grabbed it and then realized something.
Zach could potentially die from the injuries he caused on himself on the bed, so Joseph just bandaged the wound, Zach was able to keep some blood as the episode came to a close with the trio unlocking the closet and eventually waking up.
Then the credits started playing, they were the usual credits that played in the episodes. Not until it showed static and then an incredibly unsettling grayscale photo of Joseph staring into the camera, looking very traumatized.
His eye sockets were hollow with small white pinpricks with smaller black pinpricks in the eyes, almost human. There was black mucus gushing out of his eyes alongside blood alongside a very frightening screech.
After that, the footage was cut to black and then the video was swiftly removed. Joseph never brought this incident up and seems to remember it but many who saw the video did.
I still get horrible nightmares from the last scenes of the episode, I never even expected that. I believe the episode just ended with Zach dying from him ripping the chest open.
Perhaps itâs better if Joseph or the staff of JTS doesn't remember the video. Maybe that's why the episode itself was never created in the first place.
Josephâs World was just made to be a simple laid-back show, nothing intense. Thatâs it, nothing more, nothing less.
