Today— to force myself to get over my fear— I jumped stirrupless in an over glorified bareback pad and it felt GREAT!

Feeling a little ~vulnerable~ posting this, but I’ve been actively pushing myself to share more of my “real” day-to-day life with horses so post I shall. I have struggled with the canter and I have especially struggled with the canter on this pony. Admittedly, I think for a while there I gave up on her ever having a nice canter. Internally I convinced myself she’d be a great walk-trot pony and not much else and that really hindered the way I ride and train her. There’s for SURE lots to still work on, and I ride incredibly tense when I do have riding lessons- but in my lesson this morning I really felt progress. I finally felt like Jolene had potential in that canter. Jo put in so much effort this morning and I am so proud of her!!

Feeling absolutely spoiled rotten — had a fantastic riding lesson with my trainer, both me and Jolene were hot, sweaty messes by the end and my sweet man told me to sit down while he untacked and sponged my pony 😇

Boy’s trail ride! Both my home-broke ponies went out on a trail and were the bestest ponies. Snickerdoodle bravely lead in the front with ears perked up the whole time while Jolene was an angel for our guest. My partner doesn’t fit on any of our ponies so he brought along our puppy and got photos.

Soooo when Doodle was ridden on the trail for this first time she was a total boss. Just happy and willing to go the whole time!

I love working with young horses who are just confident and happy about life. Its really rewarding to give them a positive and happy beginning to being riding horses and nurturing their enthusiasm for work.

Weenie looked so pretty in the sunlight this morning!

I’ve realized recently that all my horses have the most feminine and beautifully dainty little heads on them and I LOVE IT
