People usually make kai the abuser or the asshole and i actually see the appeal bc kai fits the genre of the typical egoistic abuser and besides abuser kai media writer make such peak bro *rubs hands*

but for me if anyone gonna be abuser its the green ninja, lloyd is so mentally unstable and judgy(for example how she warned cole about all princesses being bad even when its only her experience and kept pushing the idea which you can tell she didnt do it for warning rather than hatred towards princess or her words to kai in season 4 and i know they were young and immature but still shows how low lloyd thinks of others unless they are close and i wont forget in season 6 when she suppported and laughed at every mean joke cole said while they were making the boat with nya) she actually gives me the vibes of those superheroes who are good in actions but bad in morals and personality while in kai is mean yeah and likes to tease harshly but wasnt as stuck up and morally questionable also she didnt move on quickly from skylor but didnt take everything in her life to be related to her experience unlike lloyd too

that means despite lloyd's judgy mindset kai managed to crack a place for herself in lloyd's mind as an exception which makes lloyd actually obsessed and desperate for kai's presence to an unhealthy level and literally seeks kai by her side 24/7 due to kai being the only one who 'proved' herself to lloyd therefore lloyd's broken mindset from childhood issues took this as in "oh yeah! i have no life but being by your side" route while kai? she is basically suffering in this bittersweet reality in being with her closest friend/partner but also having lloyd relying on her for mental stuff even when lloyd is stubborn and believes her problems arent that important or just an obstacle so it takes extra power for kai to get info out of lloyd or anything, kai doesnt mind and in fact due to her protector mindset on everyone she kind of places herself in the listener and also as i said protector or knight in shining armor position but it actually takes ton on her mental health as she also started being more and more secretive towards her own issues thinking they will burden lloyd or anyone instead of talking it like a partner as she also started losing herself slowly to the need to be lloyd's protector, as much as lloyd is aware of this she doesnt put much fight into this and let kai indulge in the knight mindset despite her guilt that she is the one aware of this but loving the fact someone can be so worried about her that they throw their own self for her, whenever she sees resistence from kai about this she actually doesnt even scream or argue but instead play the disappointed part as if she is 'calmly accepting' this which makes kai guilty so she tries to fix this

lloyd feels guilty of slowly making kai's life around her mostly but the whole princess and knight thing is what she needs and desires, kai on the other hand is just glad lloyd the person she cares for and shield all good and slightly aware of how bad her situation is but she pushes her own worries and needs as always making lloyd the priority, sometimes she have some breakdowns between herself and her only but never show them

lloyd is aware, she comforts kai because she gen loves her but also drop some poison of confirming that kai is doing her best in this to make sure no changes happen i know its mischaracterism or making lloyd too evil but SHE IS HALD ONI AND HALF DRAGON BOTH SELFISH CREATURES! DRAGONS PUSH THEIR PROBLEMS ON HUMANS LIKE FSM AND NEVER HELPED UNLESS THE NINJA GOT INVOLVED!! and onis are known lloyd can be bad person trust trust
