As a female g/t enjoyer, I honestly hate how fetished and demonized giant woman are portrayed in many fics, while you can find a whole variety of giant male personalities.

When I was just getting into micro/macro online back in the day (~25+ years ago, I'm old) I also found that it was almost entirely highly fetishized material, with almost no space allowed for non-fetish work. If the woman was giant, she was rarely complex or humanized at all, and if the male was giant, they could be afforded some more complexity but the woman, again, was more a prop than a person. It took me years to find any spaces that had better female representation, basically the forums and pages that were open to having women be creators on their own terms without judgement or criticism, and then it was only 2022 that I found specifically the g/t community.

It's meant a lot to see a much wider lens of g/t and size difference art and writing after so long, and I'm glad people have enjoyed what I've been able to contribute to it as well :)

But since the mermaid lives in a pond, she's isolated from the other merfolk. That made her really timid and a little oblivious to courting 😢

So whenever the human appeared, the mermaid would swim down to her nest, pick a treasure, swim up, throw it at the human, then swim away to hide in her nest.

This would happen until the human was forced to ask her to stop because they couldn't fit it in their closet anymore.

The mermaid slowly floated up to the surface, beginning to tear up because her human rejected the gift (think of a sad puppy)

The human would obviously begin to panic because this huge mermaid was beginning to cry, and offered to trade things instead

So then the human and mermaid met up every few days to eat some fish and talk (..not really talking though, because the mermaid just stared at the human and nodded..)

She knows how to knit now 🥹
