For a year she had been working for the Foot. She looked over and four large figures caught her eye. Where they the mutants that had been trying to stop Shredder? If so….maybe they could free her

"Hey" Mikey wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"We got you. We can be your family now"

"Screw what people say. Blood isn't thicker than water" Mikey smiled at her.

"Actually, the full saying is: "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water in the womb" Donnie corrected. When Mikey looked at him blankly Donnie should have guessed.

"Friendship family can mean so much more" he stayed simply. Mikey nodded in agreement to that.

"Yeah. You see?"

Alex made her way down to the sewer as usual to hang out with the guys. Laughing and joking was heard from said lair. What Alex saw broke her heart. April was sat on Mikeys lap and Mikey had an arm around her waist. Jae was the first to see Alex. He stood up and went to Alex. She couldnt hide tears from him. April looked over and waved. She unlike the turtles was oblivious to Alexs feelings for Mikey just as Mikey was oblivious. The rest of the gang looked around trying not to look at alex. Alex growled at April. She knew April was unawar but why Mikey. Donatello or Raph would have been just as good for April.

Alex turned around and stormed off. Jae followed her all the way to her apartment ”Alex please calm down. Im sorry April did that to you but believe me…She did not know. And shes had feelings for him for awhile.” Jae hugged Alex tightly “Come one lets have a movie night just the two of us” He offered. Jae hated seeing his best friend and longtime crush like this.

A few hours later, Alex was passed out on Jaes shoulder asleep, Jae however was scrolling through his phone. He tried to forget the look of pain on Alexs face. But he couldn’t. The look of betrayal and pain was engraved into his brain. He stroked Alexs hair softly smiling as he remembered when they were younger Alex use to fall asleep on his shoulder or lap. He missed these moments. He missed being so close to her. Everything about her drove him crazy, and yet her heart belonged to a man who would never know.

"I already got it" Donnie shrugged.

"Its destroyed, you've been out for three days, they would've been here long ago" Donnie assured.

"You ain't going anywhere" Raph huffed.

"Raph. Knock it off" Leo glared at him, and then turned his attention back to their guest.

"You're not property. If you want to go back to them that will be by your choice and your choice alone. In the mean time we'll protect you" the blue banded leader explained to her.

“They would have to drag me kicking and screaming to get me back to that hellhole”

Her voice had gotten rougher as she spoke the last sentence. Something that only happened when she was talking about something she try hated

"Try drinking a little more water" Donnie nodded at the water, and sat down next to her. She didn't seem tense around them, but everyone else seemed to be tense around her. Aside from Mikey of course.

"So, Minnie Don. What's your story before the foot?" Mikey say down on the couch, on her other side, putting his feet up.

He called me the perfect specimen. 3 years later and he decides to mutate me and that leads up to now…”
