it's funny how a lot of the (physical) violence in utena is so abstracted and/or allegorized within the dueling fairytale framework that, despite knowing that these kids fighting each other with swords is the very least of the things in their lives threatening to cause them harm, for much of the show, we barely see any blood
vs. oniisama e being so mundane in setting and then every four or five episodes it's like: fukiko drops block of spikes on rei's hand, rei throws knives at chalk outline of fukiko, fukiko tricks rei into standing in a rainstorm for hours on end, rei throws knives at kaoru for trying to take fukiko's bracelet from her, fukiko locks nanako in a storage cellar, fukiko pulls nanako into a lake and leaves her seemingly to drown before rescuing her at the last minute, mariko stabs aya with a box cutter, etc.

The "modern relief for modern problems" in this issue were a bit more helpful, perhaps, than "submerging your computer alongside other oversized novelty items." One piece, "The 8-Bit Blues," did deal with owning a "trusty antiquated 8-bit machine." Along with its technical topics, ST-Log examined word processors for the Atari ST, some using "text only" and others using the GEM graphical user interface.
